CHAPTER 36 | Don't Do That

Pauline Cynthia Zunino’s Point of View

Calm down, Pauline. Breathe. Breathe slowly. Inhale. Exhale.

That was the only words that were swimming through my head as I felt Warner push the chair where I sat towards his direction.

Warmth enveloped me as I crashed into his firm body. My toes wobbled as he hugged me tight and kissed me at the top of my head.

I clung unto him as if my life depended on his hug.

"I'm sorry." He whispered while caressing my hair and my back. "I'm very sorry."

We stayed like that for a while. I didn't struggle to get out of his grip because I know that the moment I let him go, I would fall on the floor.

My breathing became stable but my chest is still pounding loudly.

"Warner…" I whispered, pushing him a bit.

He obliged to my request and let me go slowly. His deep charcoal eyes bore into mine as I try to fix myself from that sudden outburst.

"Are you ready to talk to me now?" He inquired with so much hope in his voice that my heart ached again.

Umiling ako ng marahan. "N-no."

Tumango siya. "I'll wait until you're ready, Pauline."

Ano bang mangyayari 'pag nagkausap na kami? He said that he wouldn't leave until he… gets me back. But what if I can't deal with a relationship with him again?

Warner was very careful when he guided me to sit back at the table. He made me drink water first before I started eating.

My mind is placid to the point that I felt at peace. With him.

The following day, I found him cooking in the kitchen. He looked so dashing and elegant, even when he's wearing my cute pink apron that says 'Baby Pau' at the front.

Ugh. Kahit ano atang isuot niya, babagay sakanya.

"Good morning." He sported a sincere smile at me; napatingin nanaman ako sa deep dimples niya.

"Good morning," I greeted softly, looking at the cooking pot at the stove.

Today is my turn to cook breakfast, but I guess I don't have to anymore.

I wonder if whatever he's cooking is edible. I don't think Warner knows how to cook judging by the number of maids he has in his mansion.

“Have you seen our mail?” Bungad ni Sara pagkababa niya.

I tried not to look at her neck where her hickey sits but I failed. She saw me staring at it kaya naman ay kinindatan niya ko bigla.
