Y/N arrived at school, a straight emotionless expression plastered on her face. Her reaction didn't go to well with the sudden text from her ex saying that he misses her. She didn't know if it was all for a joke or if he really meant. A piece of her missed him too which made her whole mood tumble down. Y/N knew that she certainly felt something with Jeno last night. She even kissed him. Her feelings were being torn into two, both boys seesawing on who actually held y/n's heart.
Myunghee wasn't even at school since she was sick. Y/N didn't really have anyone to run to from the beginning of school. Prevented herself from wanting to see either of their faces. She goes in places that she's never been before, the places Haechan wouldn't find her. He knows her whereabouts and the library wasn't one of them. Jeno knows that y/n wouldn't step foot in the library but there she was running away from her feelings. Merging her face into some book she had no idea what the title was.
Mark just so happens to enter the library in search for an English book. He didn't like that he probably bothered y/n since they shared the same book for days and he still hasn't gotten one. Skimming through the directions towards the English shelves, he noticed y/n whimpering into a philosophy book. Mark knew she didn't have that class because most of her classes were with him. He chuckled at her indolent image then sauntered towards her. Leaning against the table and peering into the book startling her to death.
"Hey stranger." Mark greeted sitting in the vacant seat beside her.
Y/N wanted to talk to someone. Not knowing who to run to, when they came to her. She knew maybe she'd get a better perspective from a guys point of view it would help her. She refused to leave it all bottled up, bringing herself to trust Mark with what she was about to tell him.
"Hey. Can I rant to you really quick. It'll be quick I promise." Y/N asks glancing at the huge aged clock in the distance.
There was only about 10 minutes until the bell would ring for all students to go to their first class of the day. Y/N knew she could fit all of her thoughts into a small rant within that time frame. Mark being there made it better for her as she could still talk to him as they would walk to class together naturally.
"Yeah sure go ahead." Mark said leaning back into his seat.
"Great! Thanks. Uhm where do I start? Oh so, I was out with Jeno last night and we were hanging out and having fun. Then right when I got home I just knew that maybe I did like Jeno. He held my hand and brought me to places no girls ever been with him he really made me feel special. And I kissed his cheek that day too. But when I got inside my home I got a message which was from Haechan and everything went spiraling down the drain. Everything I thought I knew was flushed away and merely wiped out of my head. He's my ex and I kind of still have feelings for him, especially since he texted me that he missed me. I don't know what to do. I have Jeno and he's a real sweetheart but then there's Haechan. I've been waiting for months for him to even text or call me. And he did it right then and there." Y/N ranted as her head went into rampage fighting off unneeded overthinking.
Mark quietly sat back and observed her rant. Nodding here and there as his eyebrows furrowed when he heard a specific persons name. Mark wanted nothing for y/n of it wasn't Jeno to be with her. He didn't see genuine interest when Haechan would appear in front of y/n. He's only been hooking up with girls while y/n has been coping with it for months and finally found the light for her happiness which is Jeno. He refuses to let y/n be hurt by Haechan once again. Mark didn't believe in second chances at all. He believed that they proved themself from the start and they won't change. They shouldn't need to change to get back with what they realize were they're everything. Explains why he only wants her with Jeno.
"Tell me some of your happiest moments in your entire life. It can trail back to when you born up to now." Mark said.
He was willing to pull the information from that. He'd calculate all the times she was happy and see who she'd fit better with. Y/N didn't really have many actual happy times in her life. It was just a boring life with just Myunghee to help her cope with boredom. Haechan never really fit into that picture.
"One of the happiest moments was being born and getting loads of presents from my parents each year. Meeting Myunghee. Hanging out with her almost every weekend. Then when some random lady had gave me five dollars at the grocery store because I just had on my uniform and told me to stay in school. Having my first kiss from Haechan. Although it wasn't really a good kiss. Hmm meeting Jeno. And doing the wild things with him since we met. He showed me what it was like to live life on the wild side. I'll never forget that. I really felt alive with him." Y/N admitted her genuine happy events.
Mark couldn't help but to smile when he realized the answer he's been waiting for. All his evidence was in tack and he was going in for a good persuasion. Hoping that y/n wouldn't be stubborn enough to fight off the fact that she only really liked Jeno and Haechan was just some bait to question her feelings.
"Take a look at who you've mentioned more than anything. That's where your heart belongs y/n. Let's go head to class, the bell will ring in a few." Mark stated ruffling y/n's hair.
