My name is Nathaniel Yeshua Irivine, it was a little weird because my initial name is NY. Most of the parents, their carefully choosing name for their child. My parents wanted my name to have an initial of NY. Why? Because according to them they made me in New York and my father earned a lot of property at it. They also said New York was their lucky State. My family is one of the richest in the United States and they were famous but me and my sister weren't. Let's go back to my name, NY was not my nickname. At home they called me Nathan but people outside my house they called me Nate. I want whenever I hear Nathan I know that it is my family, because they are important to me. Family is always there for each other, and other people are temporary companions whether they are your classmates, best friends, friends, or your girlfriend.

I'm seventeen years old, six foot tall, have a beautiful messy dark brown hair and dark brown eyes, and musculine body. Some say I'm handsome, smart and kind but I didn't know if they were telling the truth. My family is rich so it was hard to tell who were the true or fake people around you. I finished middle school in California and when I started in high school we moved to New York. Since no one knows me, I decided to look different whenever I go outside of our home. I made myself look like a nerd and unattractive. My hair was side flat with the help of wax, I wore thick glasses but there were no corrections because my eyes were good. Most of the days I wore thick long sleeves just to hide my body so I can look fat. It was worth it because in my school I was invisible. I was proud to be an introvert.

Stonewall High School was my school, one of the finest schools and most of the students here were rich. Rich meaning the students here were ignorant, moron, stupid, and idiot. It was one of the reasons I was pretending to be a nerd to be invisible. I just want my life to be normal and I hate drama. I was badly serious at studying. I'm the next in line in running my family's business. I didn't want my father to be disappointed in me.

I didn't want to brag but I was the top of the class. Being the top of the class was not cool to everyone. But I didn't care, I still liked it. When I was in middle school, a lot of people were obsessed with me but in high school they hated my guts. I was in my last year in high school and I didn't have friends or buddies but sometimes I had someone to talk to. People who asked for my help. Whenever I feel that someone wants to be my friend I start to ignore them. I was pushing people away from me. Because I know they were only my temporary companions, I didn't need them in my life.

I was in my last subject, my favorite Algebra. I loved Mathematics, I liked numbers more than words. Mr. Ryan Brown is the best teacher here for me. He's a middle aged chubby italian, thin salt and pepper hair and has black eyes. When the bell rang I started to pack my things. I was so excited to go home.

I was usually the last person to leave the room, I waited for most of my classmates to go out. Mr. Brown was sitting in his chair and talking seriously to a girl, her name was Chloe Mikayla Radcliffe. She was famous in our school because she was the captain of the cheerleader and she was hot. She has wavy ginger hair, gray eyes, a hot body and wide red lips. She was mean and rude to others because of her status. I have never talked to her.

I was about to walk out the door but Mr. Brown called my name. "Nate, can I talk to you for a minute?"

He was so nice to me, I can't say no to him. "Sure, Is there a problem?"

"As you know, all of you will graduate this year. Unfortunately, some of you are not sure if they will pass this subject." I had no idea on why he was telling me this because as far as I know I did a good job in Algebra. He looked at Chloe, "Chloe is in danger to pass and I don't know if her coach will let her cheer if they know her grade." The hell I cared for her, I was confused.

She raised her left eyebrow and sighed but Mr. Brown smiled, "I want you to help her, tutor her."

This was my fourth year in this school and I need to tutor someone? I was angry at the moment Mr. Brown said it. What's the matter with him, why he need to torture me? What did I do wrong? I was just looking at him without saying a word.

He smiled again, "Come on Nate, you're the smartest student in this class. Helping others will grow more knowledge to you than hers."

I took a glance at her, she still looked mad. She was the one with the problem but it looks like she doesn't care at all. I didn't like her, how can some of the students wanted to date her with that kind of attitude.

I said to Mr. Brown, "I don't know."

"I'm begging of you Nate. If I can see Chloe doing good, you can stop tutoring her."

I wanted to say a big no but I can't. I just wanted to finish this conversation so I said, "Alright. I will help her."

He happily said, "Thank you so much Nate. Now Chloe, I want you to cooperate with him. This is about your future. He will help you with all your problems in Algebra."

She sighed, "Whatever. Can I go now?"

"Sure", he said. She left the room without looking at me.

"Don't be mad at me Nate. I just wanted to help you with your college application in Stanford. Chloe's family is powerful, maybe they can help you if they will know that you're helping their daughter".

Mr. Brown didn't know me so well. He didn't know that I am the son of the richest man. With the help of my father I can easily pass my application but I didn't want his help because I know I can do it on my own.

He added, "This also will help you to communicate with people, you're so quiet. I rarely see you talking to someone. I am concerned about you"

He was right. Since I tried to be low profile here and I didn't want him to know who I am. I need to agree with him, "Thank you Mr. Brown for helping me. I appreciate it." I smiled, " Can I go now?"

"Sure you can go. Thank you so much." Then I left with serious and mad eyes.

I finally got home. Our main home was here in this state so it's so enormous, a huge mansion. My parents were always not here, they were so busy in our business. We only talk when we have lunch or dinner in our dining room and when my father or mother wanted to tell us something important.

I went to our kitchen to make a smoothie. I didn't want my butler to do it for me because whenever I'm not in a mood I want the taste of my drink exactly what I wanted to taste.

My little sister was also in the kitchen eating her sandwich. She had just got home, she was still wearing her uniform. My sister's name is Naomi Yvette, her initials is NY too like mine. She's twelve years old, short wavy dark brown hair, black eyes, smart like me and a sweet sister.

"Hey Nathan, how's school?", she asked.

"Good. How about you?" I was starting to make my smoothie.

"Nothing new. Are you sure you're okay? You're making your own smoothie."

She was too smart to figure it out. "A little problem but I can handle it. Are our parents here?"

"They're not here. Mom said they will be busy this month."

My smoothie was done. "They are always busy. I will leave you here, I need to do my homework".

"I need to finish my sandwich then I will do my homework too. Go ahead brother."

"Good girl, bye." I smiled and she smiled too.

I was doing my homework but I can't stop thinking about Chloe. I was not sure if I could help her understand some lessons in Algebra. I was sure she would hate and mean to me. I didn't know how to approach her. Maybe Mr. Brown is right about it, it can help me for my future. I need to learn how to talk to a person like Chloe. If I can't do it maybe I will not be a successful businessman like my father. He always negotiates with other people. Tutoring with her is a new challenge for me. Challenge accepted.
