Rina debuted with BTS in 2013, at the age of 14. When she debuted, she was at a healthy weight of 116 pounds. She was healthy both mentally, physically, and emotionally.
Everyone knows about the amount of criticisms that BTS received when they debuted.
However, with Rina being the only girl in a boy dominated group, her criticisms were much worse than what the boys received.
Even though Rina was a child, not many people cared about that. They attacked her every chance they got.
They criticized her dancing, her outfits, her looks, her background, everything.
At first, Rina didn't think much of it. She assumed it was all because they had just debuted. She assumed that once BTS made it, no one would make fun of her anymore.
She kept on dancing, singing and performing.
She would keep all the criticisms at the back of her head, never really letting them bother her.
But she was wrong.
The bigger BTS got, the worse her criticisms got.
This time, it wasn't just her performance or her outfits.
They targeted her looks.
Her weight.
Her small eyes.
Her round face.
Her chubby cheeks.
Her round hips,
Her short height.
This time, she couldn't block it out.
It was all that was going on through her head.
The boys always tried cheering her up.
They told her that she shouldn't care what other people said about her. But she couldn't help it.
And it didn't help that she was also stressed from comebacks and promotions.
She slowly started dieting. What once started as a healthy diet turned into an unhealthy one. She went from just eating fruits, vegetables, and whole grains to eating next to nothing but sweet potatoes for lunch and a protein shake for dinner. Her weight dropped from 116 to 96 pounds in three months. Her body was weak from lack of nutrition, so her performances weren't as good as they used to be.
They boys had brought up their concerns with her, but she never listened. She always said she'd eat more, but she never did. It wasn't long until you could see the bones underneath her skin. Even the fans started voicing out their concerns.
Hitman Bang decided to step in when the boys finally talked to him about the problem. He had called the girl into his office to talk to her, he knew what he was about to do would hurt her, but it was for her own good. He looked up from his paperwork when he heard a soft knock on the door.
"Come in."
The door opened and Ri-Na peeked in before finally walking in. The man's eyes widened at her state. He didn't think it was this serious. Her face was really slender, it had lost all the baby fat he adored, and her body was all skin and bones. The skinny jeans she was wearing looked slightly big on her, and the over sized hoodie she had on looked like it had just swallowed her whole.
"Rina-ah," sit down," he gave her a gentle smile, pointing at the chair across from him.
The young girl bowed her head and took a seat, not looking up to meet his eyes. She knew why she was there. The boys had talked to her multiple times about her eating habits, it was only a matter of time until they finally talked to the big boss about it.
