A sticky maple. Something in Riverdale that served as a slut shaming term. Last night, Veronica Lodge went on a date with Chuck Clayton, captain of the varsity football team and son of the the football coach. He also happened to be one of the hottest guys at Riverdale, but like most hot guys, he was a player and a dick. As Kevin, Betty, and I were standing around Veronica's locker the next morning, my opinion on him was supported even more.
"Hey Veronica, How was that sticky maple you had last night?" I glared at the two passing girls, knowing all too well what that meant. Veronica, being new to Riverdale slang, didn't know anything about its meaning.
"The what now?" She asked. I just looked at my brother and shook my head. This wasn't going to end well.
"The sticky maple Chuck gave you? How was it?" They continued walked, cackling like a pair of witches.
"We had a brownie Sunday if that's what you mean." She called after them. I placed my hand on her shoulder, getting ready to tell her the bad news.
"Oh my God." I looked over to Kevin as he showed us a picture of Veronica and Chuck, only with a terribly edited in glob of maple syrup coming Veronica.
"What?" Veronica took the phone into her hands, panic crossing over her face. "What the Hell is a sticky maple?"
"Its, Its a Riverdale thing." She glared at me, knowing what it really was.
"No, its a slut-shaming thing. And I am neither a slut nor am I going to be shamed by someone, excuse me, named Chuck Clayton. Does he really thing he can get away with this? Does he not know who I am? I will cut the brakes on his souped-up phallic symbol."
"Or we can go to principal Weatherbee." I glared at Betty's suggestion and scoffed.
"What good would that do. He's the resident golden boy. Weatherbee won't do shit." Betty looked down, knowing that I was right.
"I could expose him in the pages if the Blue and Gold."
"No Betty, spoken like a true good girl who always follows the rules." I nodded at Veronica's statement. Betty was the most boring out of Kevin's friend group, she was always doing the "right thing" and was the good girl. Veronica pushed Kevin's phone back into his hands as she started to storm off. I quickly followed her, excited to see a good show down.
"Well I don't follow rules, I make them. And when necessary, I break them." Betty and Kevin had filed in behind Veronica beside me as she continued walking towards the boys locker room. "You guys wanna help me get revenge on Chuck, awesome. But better be willing to go full dark, no stars. What do you say, are you guys in or out?"
"I'm in." I say, before looking at Betty, who just stayed quiet. We barged in the locker room, and stared to push past half naked boys to get to Chuck. I ignored am the whistles that were tossed at us, focusing on what we needed to do. I cringed as Veronica ran into Archie, almost making him drop his towel, something i did not want to see.
"Veronica? Betty, Skyler, what are you guys doing here?" Veronica only glared at him, daring him to get in her way.
"Don't worry about it." Archie stepped in front if her, angering her even farther. "I mean it Andrews, hit the showers stay our of my way." She pushed him aside and we continued walking. I laughed to myself as Betty kept her head low, and her hand blocking her sight. We reached Chuck, Veronica glaring at him with a look that would have scared me. He only smirked in return.
"Huh, B, V, and S. Menage right on Ladies." I looked at him in disgust as he licked his lips.
"This," Veronica held up her phone, showing him the picture of them, "is disgusting, take it down."
