Chapter 18

Ana's pov

My the time we reached the hospital,Sam and Sevennah had cried their eyes out.my heart was beating very fast as I kept making a silent prayer in my heart.

Carl was in a better condition but he was still unconscious while Gray was in a coma after a surgery had been carried out on him to remove the broken glasses in his body.
They had collided with a truck.
As I sat in Gray's room crying my eyes out,I wondered why my happiness never lasts for long.
Just earlier today we were all happy and now here we are crying our eyes out.

The sight of Gray broke my heart into a thousand pieces as I collapsed by his bed , holding his hand while crying and trembling.He was lying on the bed looking so bruised up and lifeless with a bandage on his head and an oxygen mask to his mouth.
By the time it was evening Carl had regained consciousness so I payed him a short visit and returned back to be with Gray.Sam went home and Sevennah stayed with Carl for the night.

Alone with Gray in his room,I began talking to him.
"You came into my life at the right time promising to take away my pain and heal my wounded soul.i thought I didn't deserve happiness but you proved me wrong,and promised to give me only happiness all the days of my life.Gray,you are my ray of sunshine and I honestly cannot live without you so please wake up now.you promised me I won't ever have to go through pain again but here I am going through this shit without you by my side wake up Gray.wake up and fulfill your promise to me.wake up and dry these tears from my eyes.I promise I will do anything you want me to just wake up.without you life will be meaningless.Gray please come back to me"I continued pleading as I cried draining all the water in my system.i felt miserable,tired and lonely.

"Wake up baby, come back to me and your family,we need you"I whispered.
And just then I saw his index finger shake.
I froze,then regained my composure and ran to get the doctor.

The doctor came with three nurses to check him.when he was done,the doctor sighed and told me I must have imagined the movement because there was no improvement in his condition.

Once again I broke down,this time weeping like my life was coming to an end.

The next morning,Sam and grandma Laura came to the hospital with food and clothes for the four of us who spend the night in the hospital.

Later that day Travis, Canon and Casiana joined us.When Carl was stronger he was brought to Gray's room where he wept like a child, saying he wished he had been in Gray's place instead.I didn't feel like talking to anyone so I spoke to no one.not even my best friends.

After a week,Carl was discharged and yet there was no improvement in Gray's condition and that was when I started doubting the fact that I had actually seen his finger move that day.
