Unexpected (Neji x Oc)

Chapter 24: Two Young Travellers

One year later, Neji and Sakura are chunin now. Kyla and Neji are 17, Sakura is 15. 

Kyla pov:

I stood with Sakura in the hokages room, we were being briefed on our newest mission, we were to infiltrate the sound village and collect any information on Orochimaru, I know this mission is especially personal to the pink haired kunoichi with me as Sasuke was somebody she loved like he was the world, and Orochimaru took him, but it just shows how far she has come to be able to hear this is her mission without her fist turning into a clamp.

I nodded my head before taking my fake identification off Lady Tsunade and I passed Sakura her own I was: Mira Azile, a traveller from the land of waves, age 18. Sakura was: Rin Senko, also a traveller from the land of waves, age 16, our ages had been altered by a year, but we will still need to make up a back story before we arrive, I plan on doing that on the way. 

"Sakura, meet me at the gate in an hour, pack the necessary items, careful on your weapon count in case they search us as we walk through the gates" I explained before adding "don't wear your ninja gear, wear something casual, but flexible something you can fight in but doesn't make you look like a ninja" I then left the room knowing Sakura understands what I ask of her.

 I headed over to the Uchiha compound to smile as I walk through the gates, any traces of the horrors that took place here no longer exist, buildings are almost in pristine condition, Hyuga's are scattered all over the grounds checking for faults in the build which is then being repaired by the countless amount of builders on site, the police building is now going to be the school, its most certainly big enough, but that building is the ninja academy, where as my old home is going to be the civilian school, because its the second biggest building, this will give them enough space to learn, and its not like there's a main branch or side branch anymore so why do I need a big house if I'm alone? I can oversee the affairs here without a large home, and there's a separate building for the council anyways.

I entered my apartment and changed out of the ninja gear I had previously changed into expecting a fighting mission, I changed into black leggings, a red tank to with a leather jacket and combat boots before pulling my hair out of its ponytail and brushing it so it hangs elegantly around my figure, reaching just below my waist, I looked at myself in the mirror for a moment before deciding I'd leave my forehead protector on the table in my house, it's an under cover mission, I can't be seen with a villages symbol on my person, especially the leafs after the sounds attack, I presume that's still a sore subject for them but time will tell. I packed simple things into my bag, I didn't need much for this mission, but I will be needing something to record all of the information, so doing this the old fashion way, I packed a note pad and a series of pens, knowing if I only take one it will run out or play up.

Sakura met me at the gate just like we previously had arranged she wore simple clothes, a pair of black shorts and a long sleeved red shirt, she looked like a normal citizen, and I hoped I looked some what similar, we set out with large bags, as travellers carry their belongings around with them, so we had our heavy bags on our backs as we walked the long journey to the Land of Sound, birds tweeting to fill the silence on our journey I gazed at the sky and sighed, three pm, and we've only just left the leaf, we wont be there for a long time.

Hours had passed before darkness had infested the skies, forcing Sakura and I to set up camp, we weren't acting as ninjas, but travellers, so there was no issue with us lighting a fire for warmth on this cold dark night, we both sat around the dancing flames roasting some marshmallows over the heat. "I've never done this before" Sakura said as she poked her half melted sugary treat before taking a bite of the gooey goodness. "In the land of snow, my sensei and I used to do this on occasion, I love doing it" I said smiling as I looked back on those memories.
