You woke up in the middle of the night, bothered by the moonlight shining through your window, tickling your nose. You groggily got up and looked out of the window. "Huh. Full moon." You muttered silently. Realizing that you wouldn't be able to fall asleep again, you decided to go get a glass of water.
Trying your best not to wake up a snoring Lily, you tiptoed out of your room. You sneaked down the immensely dark hall but were surprised when you saw a warm light coming from James' room. "What are they doing up?" You thought to yourself. Maybe they had just forgotten to turn off the lights?
For now, you decided to shrug it off so you sneaked past the room and into the kitchen. Downstairs in the kitchen, you took a glass and filled it with water, letting your thoughts run free. Why was the light on in James' room? Why did Remus decide to come later than the others? Why were you so tired, and why did the stupid full moon decide to wake you up?
You sighed quietly before drinking the water.

You could already see the light from James' room when you were on the stairs, glass in hand. The only difference was that this time, you could hear the boys whispering.
"To be honest, I'm kind of worried..."
"Of course Wormtail. We all are!"
"Let's just hope it goes well."
"Who knows, Padfoot! He told us himself that it's better when we're with him!"
"But we aren't."
"Why aren't we? He could have just come here and we'd have taken care of it!"
"He was worried about hurting anyone. Plus, how would we be able to keep it a secret from the girls?"
"It's better like this. It's the last one before Hogwarts, and then we'll be with him."
Your interest had been peeked, and you were now standing against the wall, sipping your water and listening intensely. What were they hiding?
"You're right Sirius... I mean, it's Remus! He'll be fine. Right?"
REMUS?!
You almost choked on your water, letting out a rather loud gurgling noise.
"Shh! I think I heard something!"
"I'll check the hall..."
You quickly swallowed the water as you saw a shadow moving towards the door. You made a run for it back to your room, closing the door, listening closely.
"No one's out here. Guess it was just the wind, then."
Relieved, you breathed out.
Guess it was time to go back to bed now.
You placed the glass on your desk before tiptoeing back to bed, feeling more awake than ever.

August 14th 1976
Your parents were out shopping so you had the house to yourselves. But being the responsible teenagers you were, you decided against causing your parents any trouble. Well... It was more yours and Lily's decision that the boys had been forced to follow. Right now, you were all sitting on the grass in the garden, playing poker. The game had gotten quite heated, and the boys had even gone as far as to bet 10 sickles on who'd win.
"Aaaaand I won!" Lily proudly declared, showing her cards. James and Peter groaned annoyed as they handed 10 sickles to a grinning Sirius. "Wanna play another game?"
"Sure!" Lily chimed. "Every opportunity I get to beat James!" She joked as James rolled his eyes, though obviously liking the attention. "You guys go ahead," You got up from the grass. "I'll go get us some snacks, sound good?" The group quickly replied with stuff like "Yeah!" and "Nice!".
"But hurry! We won't wait forever!" Sirius was already dealing the cards.
With a sarcastic scoff and a quick remark, you were on your way to the kitchen wondering whether there were any chocolate bars from Honeydukes left.
Once in the kitchen, you got out a big bowl, went to the cupboard and put in some chocolate bars, liquorice wands and a few every flavour beans. "This ought to be enough." You muttered with a satisfied smile playing on your lips.
You had just grabbed the bowl and were heading back through the living room to get outside as you heard a faint knock on the door. Placing the bowl back on a shelf and walking towards the front door, you were wondering. Who could possibly want to pay you a visit in the middle of this fine Saturday?
You definitely weren't prepared for what you saw once you'd opened the door.
It was Remus. Of course it was. He was standing outside your door with deep bags under his eyes, and he was pale... Very pale. It almost made him look sick, exhausted to say the least. And... was that a new scar on his cheek?
You had been so shocked by his surprising state that you'd completely forgotten that you were staring at him. "Hi Y/n." He spoke silently with a genuine smile on his face.
"Oh! Right! Hi!" You spoke loudly. "Sorry.. I was just..." You trailed off. Remus gave you a hesitating look as he fidgeted lightly with his suitcase.
"Are you okay? What happened to your cheek?" You blurted out after a bit of silence.
"Oh, this?" Remus gestured to his wound, looking as if he was trying to hide something. "It's nothing, really. I just fell down the stairs."
You looked at him with disbelief. "And your cheek just burst open, or...?" He blushed, laughed and brushed it off. "I don't know, but that's what happened." He looked very unsure, however, you decided not to press the matter any more. It was probably the truth anyways.
"Oh, well... Welcome! How have you been?" You tried your best to sound welcoming as you led him inside the house, but you still couldn't get your eyes to stop staring at his cheek. "I've been okay, I guess..." Remus replied awkwardly. You were sure that he'd noticed your staring, but he was probably too polite to address it. "Here, let me take your suitcase!" You grabbed the brown luggage from his hand and placed it on the floor in the living room. You could still remember when he had gotten it.
It was on his 13th birthday, and the five of you (James, Sirius, Peter, Lily and you), had split your money to buy it. You even had Professor R.J.L. engraved on it with big, golden letters. Not that he was a professor or anything. He just always acted like one, at least according to Sirius.
"The others are in the garden, playing poker." You grabbed the bowl from the shelf. "I was just getting snacks." You gave him a sweet smile before handing him the bowl asking; "You want some?"
Remus nodded quietly and took a chocolate bar from the bowl, smiling. "Thanks N/n".
"Let's get back to the others. I'm sure they've missed you! I know James has." You joked, elbowing his side lightly.
