Katrina, Braden and Avery walked back to the car. Avery bought a pair of sandals at one of the stores that they were passing by. Katrina and Braden bought nothing.
Avery closed the door of the backseat. "Well, it's been fun, but I have to go home."
"Not another hour?" Katrina asked.
"No, I have to change out of these clothes, maybe put on some comfy pjs."
"Next stop, Avery's." Braden said. Avery and Katrina guided Braden to a big house on the outskirts of Seattle.
Driving out of her driveway, Braden asked Katrina a question. "Remember when I said my friend was trying to hook me up too?"
"Uh, yeah..."
"Well, he still doesn't believe I have a girlfriend. Which, yeah, I don't, but could we please just pretend for the rest of the night. If you're okay with that."
"Well, I don't want to stay in a dress, if we are doing this, we have to stop at my house first."
"So that's a yes!" Braden smiled excitedly and Katrina rolled her eyes.
Katrina got changed into a sky blue sweater and black jeans. She touched up her makeup and went back into the car.
"You look nice." Braden commented.
"Whatever you say"
They drove to Braden's house so he could get changed too. Katrina waited in the living for Braden as he slipped into a brown plaid shirt and blue jeans. Braden slouched over his phone on the couch.
"So, I'm texting the guys, t'see if they wanna go bowling with you and me."
"So, who?"
"Drake, Troy, Shamus and Abigail. Abigail is my friend, Shamus wants me to go out with her."
"Ah, so if he sees you with me-"
"Yeah, he will stop, hopefully!" A banner appeared at the top of his screen, a text.
"Shamus is in." He got more texts, they all decided to go bowling.
They drove to the bowling alley and got coffees along the way. "Thanks Braden" Katrina said as she sipped her coffee."
"No problem"
They pulled into the parking lot. And, as Katrina unbuckled, Braden said something. "Okay, so, you told me to tell you first, I think we might have to kiss again."
"Braden!"
"Hey! It's not my fault. It just wouldn't be believable!"
"Fine, just once. I'm so not ready for this..." She said, pushing her door open.
Braden walked around the door and grabbed her hand. "Smile!" He said, smiling.
She put on a smile and walked towards the door. Then, someone pushed Braden's shoulders forward and laughed. Braden spun around, pulling Katrina with him. "Hey Drake!"
They were all behind them, a group of teenagers, three guys and a girl.
Drake was a tall muscular dude with shiny black hair and brown eyes. He had a black leather jacket on, jeans and bright red high-tops.
"So dude, this must be?" A guy with curly dark brown hair in a sports cap, grey long-sleeve shirt and cargo pants said, gesturing to Katrina.
"My girlfriend, Shamus meet Katrina, Katrina meet Shamus."
"Since when have you had a girlfriend, Bray?" The girl said. She was shorter than Katrina and had long, straight red hair. She had so many freckles all over her pale arms and face. She wore a three-quarter length emerald top and white skinny jeans. She was tiny.
"We just got together a few days ago, we met a few years ago and we started talking again."
"Yeah, he's my man!" Katrina playfully hit his chest. She felt that he had abs.
"Wow, didn't know you had it in ya Bray." Abigail teased.
"Really though, who knew?" The last guy exclaimed. "Name's Troy" He said to Katrina. He was a bigger guy with dirty blond hair and grey eyes.
"So, now that we're done with introductions, let's bowl!" Braden smiled, raising Katrina and his linked hands into the air between them.
