Where has it gone
Has it finally been used up
Or did it leave me
In my dark days
Like a fair weather friend
I had no idea that
Sixteen years was ever considered
Too long to wait
When you're trapped
In a wretched place
Time seems to punish you
He can be cruel
He runs faster
Only once you've found some joy
Days can only go slow
When misery's afoot
Joy isn't allowed to stay
He whisks it wickedly away
Perhaps he also took my soul
For I have no hope
Nor a will to go onward
I don't care about tomorrow
I don't even want a tomorrow
That's how willing I am to cope
Sad and lost
Overcome and cold
All because of the soul
That I've never sold
