Sa condo niya umuwi si Lance. Pagkatapos mag shower ay umupo siya sa sofa habang binubuksan ang isang canned beer then turned on his 36-inch plasma tv. Naghahanap ng magandang mapapanuod. Naka ilang lipat na siya ng wala paring magustuhan, ay nagdesisyon na siyang humiga nalang. He's about to get his sleep when his damn cp signalled a caller. He checked the time. 1:34 am.
"What the?!" he took a dangerous glance on his cp on the side table then sighed
Hinayaan niyang tumunog ang cp niya pero ng hindi ito tumigil sa kakaring ay inabot ito sa bed side table.
"This must be important. What do you want?"
without checking who's the caller
"I'm doing good brother!"
sagot ng caller
"Ate?"
then checked his cp and felt stupid.
"Haha..Iyan ba ang isasalubong mo sakin? How are you my dear"
Lara Hidalgo, the first born. Matanda ito ng sa kanya ng 3 taon and married to Jason a doctor. They're enjoying a simple life away from fame and sophistacation of her life before as a daughter of a powerful business tycoon. 8 buwan na ang mga ito sa Appalachia because Jason's team is currently having a medical mission there. Nagtatrabaho ito sa isang malaking hospital sa Chicago na kung saan nagbibigay ng libreng konsulta sa mga pasyente sa iba't ibang panig ng America, Europa at maging sa Asya. Ito ang head doctor ng departamentong iyon ng hospital.

Nang kinasal sila ay nag resign siya sa kompanya nila at iniwan lahat ang responsibilidad sa kapatid nitong si Lance at sumama kay Jason, sa kung saan ito madestino and to live simple life there. Tutol nung una si Lance sa pagpapakasal niya lalo ng malaman nitong ganun ang magiging sistema ng pamumuhay niya kasama si Jason at lalo nang malaman nitong sakanya maiiwan ang pamamahala sa kompanyang itinayo na ama nila. But she know her brother well. Hindi siya nito natiis and she know that he loves her and wants her to be happy. They were married for 2 years now. Their marriage is almost perfect. Ang kulang nalang ay ang mabiyayaan sila ng anak. Mababa ang sperm counts ni Jason. Pero ginagawan naman nila ng paraan.
"I'm good. You need something? Kamusta kayo jan?"
"Oh! Finally tapos na ang medical mission nila Jason dito. They gave 2 weeks vacation my dear. We're going home maybe next week. "
"That's good sis. You both need that."
"Yeah, we're flying to Paris tomorrow. And I'm excited !Jason is so sweet! Malay mo, doon kami makakabuo. Diba?"
excited na sabi nito.
"Bilis bilisan nyo at ng hindi ako ang kinukulit ni mama."
"Oh, kinukulit kana naman ba niya ulit? Goodluck to that Lance.haha"
"Ha-ha-ha..Funny. Ok, give my kisses to Lilian when you see her."
Si Lilian ang bunsong kapatid nito. Nasa Paris and persuing her talent, designing.
"Yeah sure brother. Take care ok? Say hi to mom for me."
"Sure. Take care!'

"Mommy, is lolo and lola excited to see me as i am?"
Nasa kwarto ni Alexa sila habang nakahiga. Katatapos lamang niya itong basahan ng bedtime stories pero parang wala pa sa mood matulog ang anak niya.
Napangiti siya. "Ofcourse honey. They are the most excited lolo and lola when i told them that we are going home."
then kissed her daughter in her tiny forehead.
"Tito Eric also?"
"Tito Eric also."

"Mommy, will i have many playmates there?"

"I'm sure you'll have. You are the most friendly girl in town honey."
"And you are the besh mommy in the world! Lub you mommy!" nagsign pa ito ng bilog gamit ang kamay nito
"I love you more Alex, i will do anything for you."
habang yakap nito ang anak.
She's staring at the best gift she recieved. Her daughter. Her life.

si Gene, nasa isang restaurant ito kasama ang ilang mga malalapit na kaibigan at office mates niya for her despedida.

nakangiting sabi ni Aya. Lasing na ito.
"Talaga! Dahil kung hindi, sasabunutan kita at ibabalik si Manang Belen dito."
natawa siya
"Baliw!haha"
"But you know what, ngayong uuwi na kau, para narin akong nawalan ng pamilya dito."
malungkot na sabi nito
"Gene, may times naman na babalik at babalik ako dito to personally report. At tatawagan kita lagi."
"Ganun din yun." sabay tayo
"Guys! can I have a sec here. thank you! We are here to say our goodbyes to one of our best friends, to a very hard working woman, that's why she really deserves this promotion, to a very beautiful person, in and out, and to my futute sister-in-law, (tawanan sila) I'm very much happy for you Aya, you will finally see your parents after 5 years right? Don't forget my kiss to Eric. (tawa ulit) goodluck to the new level of your career my friend. And to your family, your daughter, Alex, you are a great mother to her. And that's what i am proud of you. Nagawa mong maging ina't ama sa kanya. Alam kong hindi madali yun but you did. She's a wonderful kid, and that's because of you. Just remind yourself my dear, whatever it takes, I'm just here. Hindi ako magsasawang simangutan ka when you are becoming that dominant with your work. Hinay hinay lang, humanap ka muna ng tatay ni Alex. We will miss you and take care. Cheers!"
Then she hugged her. Naluluha na siya
"Thank you Gene, thank you guys. For everything. I know I won't make it this far kung hindi dahil sa inyo. Nang una kong tapak dito, pikit mata kong hinarap kong ano man yung magiging buhay ko dito kasama ng magiging anak ko. There was no assurance what would be the coming days for me. But when i met you guys, you helped me to find direction. Tinulungan niyo akong maging matatag at malakas for my daughter. You helped with everything, nanjan kayo ng mga panahong walang wala ako, nang sa tingin ko, hindi ko na kaya. I owe you everything guys. And I'm so thankful na sa iyo ako unang humingi ng tulong Gene, you did'nt just helped me, you saved me. And I love you so much friend. Thank you for everything."
Nagpalakpakan ang mga nandun, and Gene hugged her again. nakisali narin ang ibang mga kaibigan niya.
