"Y/n-Senpai~" A certain ghost's voice cooed, a female just to the right of him turning her head to look at him.

"I told you to stop calling me senpai!" She scolds, shoving the ghost playfully. "Tsukasa, when are you ever going to listen to me?"

"I'm listening to you right now," He grins, causing Y/n to roll her eyes and cross her arms.

The two seemed like an unlikely pair of friends, but yet, here they were. Nobody knows how they met, though people just infer Y/n knew Sakura, who introduced Tsukasa to her, and they somehow got along. Y/n just liked having a ghost as a friend but wasn't quite fond of his sadistic personality. She could deal with it, yes, and she was starting to see it as 'normal,' despite how unnatural it was. Tsukasa, on the other hand, believed he wouldn't be able to live, or rather continue to exist, without Y/n. He's often protective and won't let anyone hurt her, and would defend her with his life. Or, well, you get the idea.

Y/n looked across the room, to where Sakura and Natsuhiko were standing. Sakura was trying her best to focus on important things, while Natsuhiko was flirting, per usual.

"Hey, Y/n?" Tsukasa speaks up. She looked up. "Do you wanna visit a boundary?"

Y/n's eyes immediately lit up like a lightbulb. She'd never been to a boundary before, so she immediately responds with an enthusiastic "Yeah!"

The two waited until Sakura and Natsuhiko were having their daily dose of anger, which would lead to arguing, and most people knew by now that they would focus on nothing but proving their point. Y/n and Tsukasa snuck out of the room as quietly as possible, which wasn't much trouble for the one of them who could simply float.

They arrived at the Misaki stairs, and it was only now that Y/n started to seem a little bit nervous about this spontaneous adventure of sorts.

"Aren't these stairs... haunted?" She asks, her voice wavering a little as she brought her eyes up each step.

Tsukasa shakes his head. "Nah, my twin brother and his friends got rid of the thingy-thing so it's not dangerous anymore!" Y/n still looked a touch skeptical. "If anything comes up, I'll protect you, don't worry!" The ghost adds, resulting in Y/n's face to turn into a trustful smile.

Tsukasa grabs Y/n's hand and smiles back at her, before pulling her onto the fourth step and into the boundary. Y/n gazed at the place in awe. It wasn't at all what she had imagined; it was better. She thought it would look haunted, deserted, chaotic, or the like, but instead the place was a peaceful meadow.

"Wow..." A whisper of wonder came out of her mouth in a single breath.

Tsukasa frowns. "Aww," He whines, "I wish it were still like it was before. Trust me, it looked so cool! There were all these limp dolls and lanterns and giant scissors everywhere, it was stunning!"

Y/n pulls her hand up to her face, giggling into a soft fist. "I think I like it more the way it is now."

"Really? I guess I picked a good boundary, then."

"Yeah," She replies, finding a nice spot on the green grass. "C'mon, sit down!"

Tsukasa grins. "But I wanna float," He pouts. "Why can't you let me float?"

"You can only float if you let me fly with you," Y/n says, grinning. "So what do you say?"

"I say it's dangerous, and you could get hurt."

"You're one to talk," She frowns, "Didn't you say you'd let nothing hurt me? You're able to control the outcome this time!"

"Fiiiiine," He groans, picking up Y/n bridal style and pushing lightly off the ground. "There, are you happy?"

Y/n leans her head into his chest. "Very."

"Would you still be happy if I left you in a tree so I could go do something?"

"I guess," She scoffs as Tsukasa lowers her body onto a tree branch which Y/n found highly uncomfortable.

"Just wait right there, I'll be right back," He orders, taking off before Y/n could even begin to protest anything.

Tsukasa left to find a different garden, which he knew had Y/n's favorite kind of flowers. "Yako won't mind," He mumbled, plucking a few flowers from the ground and holding their stems in his hand, a miniature bouquet. He took his time to organize them, he wanted them to look practically perfect for Y/n. He was giving them to her for being a good friend, and she was such a good friend that he ended up falling in love with her. Voices in his head were telling him it would never work about because she's alive and he's dead, but it was certainly worth a try.

When he returned to the tree, Y/n was cowering into the tree, her body pressed against the trunk as she looked nervously below her. Underneath her feet were plentiful amounts of Mokke, all of which did not look normal at all. (They're like the zombie ones from volume four if I'm correct)

Tsukasa's inner instinct had him dashing straight at the bunny-like monsters, leaving the bouquet far behind him. Using only his bare hands, he defeated all the Mokke, watching as they hopped off after returning to normal. (I don't care if that's not how it works, deal with it.)

Tsukasa frowned once the Mokke were out of sight. They trampled right over the flowers he picked just for Y/n. Speaking of which, she had jumped down from the tree and stepped up behind her friend.

"What's that?" She asked, looking over his shoulder and at the squashed petals.

"They were for you, but..." He answers, his voice trailing off as he turns around to show her the flowers directly. "They're ruined... I hope you'll still take them..." He adds, handing her flowers.

"Tsukasa, I bet they were beautiful, thank you so much!" She smiles warmly as the flowers droop. She holds them in one hand and uses her empty arm to hug Tsukasa.

"I- I was going to give them to you so I could tell you I love you, but-"

"You didn't need flowers, silly!" She laughs, dropping the bouquet all together and embracing him entirely. "I would have said yes either way."

Tsukasa returns her hug hesitantly, barely even believing this was real. "I love you, Y/n," He says, smiling into her hair as he rests his head on top of hers.

"I know, I love you too."
