Kou x Reader [𝙿𝚎𝚛𝚖𝚊𝚗𝚎𝚗𝚝]

[Kou's P.O.V.]

When I asked Y/n if she wanted to hang out after school, I didn't expect her to say yes. I thought she'd decline and say she already planned something else, but here I am, completely unprepared for the potential disaster that is my untidied plans.

I frantically walked through the halls, my nerves all in turmoil. I had to find Teru, and fast. Maybe he would have some advice. There's no way I'm going to reveal to my crush that I didn't plan a single thing, I don't even want to begin to think about how ticked off she would be. Y/n's usually bubbly, but can often get sort of triggered at times, but that's a quality of hers in my opinion. 

I eventually found a classroom, in which was my brother, immediately recognizable by his messy blonde hair that was similar to mine. "Teru!" I shout, catching his attention as he turned around to face me. "I need help with something!"

He looks at me quizzically, slightly raising an eyebrow. "For what, exactly?"

"You know Y/n, right?" I ask, and I already know I've screwed up by the look on Teru's face. 

"Y/n L/n? What, did you ask her out or something?"

I scoff, trying to ignore the heat rising onto my face. "Not exactly," I mumble. "L- Look, that's not the point! I don't know what to do!"

"Well don't ask me," He says, giving a short, empty chuckle, "I've never successfully hung out with a girl before either."

"Are you calling me unsuccessful?!"

"Well dear brother," He chimes, ruffling my hair with his hand, "That depends on how you little date goes."

"It's not a-"

"Kou-Kun!" I was interrupted by a shout coming from a neighboring hallway, the shout created by none other than Y/n herself. "Kou-Kun!" She repeats.

Teru playfully punches my shoulder and taunts: "Go get her~"

I scowl under my breath. "I swear I'll get you back for this," I mutter, leaving my brother and his smug grin behind as I continued into the -mostly- empty hallway. "Hey Y/n!" I shout, waving to her, only a little too late to her calls. 

"Kou!" She greets, running up to me. "You ready?"

"Wha- Oh, yeah!" I stutter, waiting in the incredibly awkward, albeit short, silence. "Did you have anywhere in mind you wanted to go?"

"I assumed you had things thought through," Y/n replied, her eyes glossed over with confusion. 

"That's not what I meant, of course I have a plan! I was just prepared to take a small detour if you wanted," I say, laughing nervously as her gaze slowly turns into a glare. "There's nothing wrong with treating you, is there?"

"Hm? Oh, not at all!" She perks up, her glare immediately replaced with a smile. "I don't have anywhere I'd like to go, so it's all up to you and your plans!"

She's making it sound like she knows I didn't think of anything. It's like she's seeing right through me...

I clear my throat in an attempt to sound less insecure. "I was thinking we could walk around until you're needed back home."

"Sounds fun!" She chirps, leaving an exciting atmosphere in the air.

I notice Teru peeking out from behind the classroom door, giving me a quick thumbs-up, accompanied by a devilish smirk. I would have scowled at him, but Y/n was right next to me, and there's no way I'm about to mess this whole thing up right at the start. I ignored him and offered for Y/n to walk next to me, to which she agreed as we walked out of Kamome Academy side-by-side.
