Ruby visited dad while he still recovered though dad insisted that he was fine. I believed him, I can usually tell when he is lying, though Ruby insisted that he needed to take it easy even if he was feeling "fine". Max has been by my side since I got home from the hospital with dad. But to be totally honest I kinda enjoy it plus he wakes me before I start yelling in my sleep. I tried doing things for dad since I still feel guilty about what happened. He caught on pretty quick and now insists on doing everything himself now.

It's Monday again so I have to go back to school since he isn't in the hospital anymore. I'm not behind because I did every thing while I was in the hospital when I was bored. I threw on a Breaking Benjamin shirt and a pair of dark washed jeans. I grabbed Max and headed for school. "Bye mom!" I heard someone call, then I realized it was Rose. I didn't realize she was just a couple blocks away from me. "Hey Scarlet" " Hey Rose" I replied. " you were gone for like a week is everything alright?" she asked. I contemplated about telling her the truth but I don't want to get attached so I just say, "yeah I went out of town for just a little bit that's all. How has things been at school?" "same old same old. Homework, mean girls, and crappy food."

" Are those bimbos still bugging you?" I ask a little agitated though being careful not to let it be heard in my voice. she chuckled and said, "yeah but I hope you don't mind I picked up that arm lock you used. it was useful for a little while. I'm sure they'll leave me alone now that your back though." " you let me know if they're still picking on you ok?" "ok" she replied hesitantly.

We got to school and went our separate ways. I had chemistry which I was not thrilled for because my chemistry class happens to be full of preppy class clowns. I quietly sat down and started going over notes for the quiz today. The boys and one girl came in loud as usual, which I didn't mind because Max needed the practice. I check on him and he starts to get nervous, moving his feet and looking around sharply, I pat him to tell him it's ok. " Hey what's up with the dog?" said a guy that hadn't been here when I started this class.

I simply ignore him I'm not in the mood to talk to people. I just want to study for the quiz. " Hey I asked a question. why do you have a dog in school?" he asked again. his friends that already knew why just sat quietly, looking anxious to see what happens. " He's here for training." I reply. " For what, to become a therapy dog?" I was starting to get agitated so I told him while snapping at him a little bit. " No. He's going to be a bomb dog but he needs practice with loud noises. Now can I study for the quiz?" " Well someone's cranky. Guess it's true military members are short fused especially when the women are on they're period." he replied sarcastically.

I wasn't happy but I kept it under control and said , "guess it's true, wanna be "bad boys" are strait up pricks." He scowled at me and replied with, "bitch." I just sat there ignored it and smiled while going back to studying. I don't know why but it seems like everyone has respect for military members except for teenagers when the military member is the same age as them. Other than that the rest of the day wasn't bad Max whined here and there but strait out hated the lunch room. He wined the entire time so I'm definitely going to keep taking him there. It was the last class of the day English, which I had with Rose and the bimbos. (that's what I call the group of girls that pick on Rose)

The bimbos came in first, saw me and sat down, on the other side of the room, quietly. Rose finally got here and sat down next to me. "hey Scarlet, how was your day?" "fine, yours" I reply. "actually really good my mom called during lunch and said my brothers home!" she said excitedly. "Oh cool so your going to see him when you get home?" " Yeah. Hey do you mind if we walk together? I'd like you to meet him if you don't mind." she asked me with pleading eyes. "I guess but I can't stay I really have to get home." "ok. yay I'm so excited I haven't seen him in like 6 months."

English was good the teacher cracked a joke about the tension. Now it's just me, Max, and Rose walking to her house. "how old are you?" Rose asked. "I'm 19. you?" "oh I'm 17 but my brother is the same age." she replies. We finally make it to her house and there is a motorcycle sitting in the driveway. The door opens and Rose tackles the guy before I can see what he looks like.

She finally lets go reluctantly and starts towards me. "Scarlet this is my brother Luke." "Scar?" he asks. I can't believe it. It's my ex-boyfriend. "Luke?" I quietly ask back.
