For the people who are actually reading this, thanks and please read more. If you think it's terrible, well it's understandable, this is my first book, and not everyone's the most creative person in the world.

Helena woke up half asleep. She had been up all night studying for a test in her most hardest class. As she rolled out of bed, she looked at her digital clock on the bedstand next to her. It read 7:48. "CRAP!! I'M GOING TO BE LATE FOR SCHOOL!!" she screamed. She ripped apart her room getting ready as quick as she could. She grabbed a T-shirt of her favorite band and some ripped jeans. She threw on her black Converse and a black hoodie. She didn't even bother to brush her hair or look in a mirror.

As she ran downstairs and grabbed a pop-tart from her older brother's plate.

"Hey! What the heck!!"

"I'm going be late so shut up, plus you don't have to go till 9:30!" Her brother went to the community college and took the later classes.

"Still! I love pop-tarts and no one gets away with stealing one from me!"

"Whatever, I got to go bye!" She ran out the door with her backpack bouncing behind her.

She got her bike from the shed and rode as fast as she could to school. Luckily, it wasn't too far away and she made it as soon as the bell rang. She plopped down in her seat, exhausted from the ride there, and opened her textbook.

During her next class, Helena was depressed, she had forgotten everything she studied last night and totally failed the test. The day had started terribly.

During lunch she went outside, trying to get away from the noise. She picked a table far from the other ones. She quietly ate her lunch until a group of cheerleaders came up to her.

"What do you want?"

"Oooohhh nothing! We just wanted to see if the demon girl really did eat the raw flesh of animals."

There had been a rumor spread around saying she was a demon because she beat up some guy once with "superhuman" strength. On reality she had accidentally tripped some jock and he came crashing down the stairs. It was spread by that guy, trying to make him look tough, and her a demon. But the raw flesh part was new.

"Just go away."

"Why? Or else you'll curse us with your 'demon powers' !!!"

"Just buzz off, it's not like I did anything to you!"

"No, but, like always, there are the popular ones and the losers ones. You are a loser and I am popular, so it's only natural that I pick on you goth girl!"

That set Helena off. In a flurry of fists, hair-pulling, and screaming, they were at each other's throats. The other cheerleaders, not knowing what to do, just stood by. After a minute or so, the principal came with some campus security and separated the two girls. They were both panting and had scratches on their faces. Instantly, the cheerleader started crying, and acting innocent. "What happened here?!" the principal said in a demanding tone.

"Helena attacked me out of nowhere!"

"I did not!"

"I saw her hit first!"

"Me too!" The cheerleaders were defending her, and Helena had no one to help her.

"That's it! Helena, you'll have detention after school for two weeks!"

"But..."

"No buts! You will have detention starting now!"

So Helena stayed after school begrudgingly, and missed the bus. Because she got in trouble, her mom wouldn't pick her up an hour late for getting in a fight. Even though her brother did that all the time when he was in high school! She sighed," Isn't this just the best day ever...but at least it's going to rain". Rain had always put her in a good mood and she needed to be cheered up.
