The Other Side

Chapter 6

"What!? Bodies!?" Helena looked at Jane in surprise.

"Yes....I was looking through some houses and I saw trails of blood leading to the basement. I followed it and saw a torn up body... It was as if it had been chewed up by a monster! Come, I'll show you.." Jane got up and started walking to another house. It seemed somewhat familiar

She went to the backyard where there was an old shed. It had a staircase that led down to the supposed basement. It looked more like a torture chamber to Helena. Its cement walls were cracked and had pipes sticking out in different places. There was something splattered on the wall but it was too dark to make out what it was.

"There..." Jane pointed across the room in the corner.

There, in the corner, was a body. It looked like it was years old and covered in blood. The legs had been ripped off and one arm was ripped off. Helena saw the arm on the other side of the room. You could tell there used to be a pool of blood that leaked half way across the room. It was just a dark stain now.

"Oh my god..." Helena fell to her knees and covered her face with her hands. "What...is this?"

What happened!? What is this! WHY!!!

"It's what's left of another victim," Jane said with a grim expression. "One of the many victims..."

"Who did this!?"

"More like what did this..." Jane helped Helena up and hugged her tightly. "I'm sorry, I didn't want to show you."

Helena sniffed, "It's okay... But what monster did this!? And...who was that?" She pointed at the corpse.

"I don't know. People from different times, different places, but none I know. The poor Souls... Let's get out of here." They walked up the stairs and sat on the back steps of the house.

Helena sighed, " Well I guess that's the catch to being here. You gotta keep an eye out for an evil monster."

"Don't say that. It doesn't live in this area, as far as I'm sure, and I make sure to go to the houses that have a security system."

"Yeah 'cause an alarm will definitely keep a super strong beast out."

"Hey, don't you sass your mother!" Helena chuckled.

I feel like this house is familiar...

"Helena," Jane was opening the door and walking inside, "come inside. This is the house we're staying in tonight. Let's get settled in." Helena got up and followed her inside.

Who's house is this? Could it be!? Its Lucy's house!

Lucy was one of Helena's only friends. It was her house and for some reason she had not noticed it earlier.

Jane turned to Helena, "What's wrong honey?"

"Nothing, its just that this is my friend's house. I miss her."

Didn't Lucy say her dad went missing. They thought he left them and ran off with another woman. Her whole family was devastated... Could that body be?... No, not possible... But...
