Eddie had fallen asleep on the ground. He had lost all of his energy to his tears until sleep took over.
Richie had watched him. Not creepily, but concerned. It's not like Richie could've left anyway.Richie sat on Eddie's bed, but 'sat' wasn't exactly the right word. Richie could shift his weight and feel like he was sitting, but in reality he wasn't even touching the bed.
The undead cannot touch anything that belongs to the living, at least not with great difficulty.
In Richie's several years of being a ghost he'd never worked out how to build up enough energy to move an object like ghosts do in the movies.
It was a shame actually, there were so many golden pranking possibilities he couldn't try."So," a groggy voice sounded from behind Richie.
The lanky boy turned to see Eddie wiping his eyes and brushing a hand through his messy chestnut hair.
"So?" Richie prompted, crossing his arms, low-key excited to finally have a proper conversation with someone.
"I have a lot of questions. Like A LOT." Eddie said, his voice wavering slightly.
Richie couldn't work out whether he sounded happy or sad. Maybe he was neither.
"Ask away."Eddie was quiet for a moment. Trying to make himself comfortable on the floor. At least the room wasn't as dark anymore. Sunlight peaked out from behind the curtains, making the dark room glow amber slightly.
"First can you- erm- open the curtains... I don't want to be in the dark right now."Richie stood up and walked over to the curtains. He reached his hand out slowly, trying to build up some kind of suspense to Eddie's annoyance.
He suddenly lurched forwards and reached for the curtain, his hand going straight through the material. This seemed to be the only similarity to the movies.Eddie's face sunk, "Great."
" I guess that answers your first question," Richie shrugged, "Want me to tell you about all the other things that we cant do that will annoy the fuck outta you?"
Eddie sighed, leaning forwards with his head in his hands, "No, I want to know about you,"
Richie's mouth drooped in a surprised smile, "Well I'm Richie Tozier. Handsome. Hilarious. I also have no idea what I'm doing but I know I'm doing it really really well."
Eddie raised an eyebrow, trying to pretend he was annoyed.
"No tell me what your reaaallly like."Richie grinned, already sensing that Eddie's mood was getting better, "Okay... well I'm Richie. I wear glasses but swear a lot so people don't think I'm a nerd... and I'm also handsome and hilarious."
"I told you to stop lying," Eddie said with a smirk.
Richie widened his eyes to pretend to be offended, "You don't think I'm handsome? Well your mum seems to disagree,"
Eddie pulled a disgusted face, "What the heck? I thought ghosts were meant to be cool?"
Richie grinned, "What and I'm not? You shoulda seen this room before you moved in. I had awesome posters on the wall and an epic comic book collection...."
Eddie's now playful expression fell slightly, "This used to be your room?"
Richie stopped reminiscing and turned to face him directly, "Yeah. That's why I manifested here... I've been here since the day I-," he paused, not wanting to continue.
Eddie could see the memories were too painful. He understood.
"How- how long ago was that?" Eddie asked, placing his words carefully.
