10 days till Halloween.
"What are they doing here?" Richie whispered, pulling back.
Eddie did the same. Disappointed. Disappointed that the moment had been ruined. Was he actually about to have his first kiss?.. with Richie? I guess now he'll never know.
Beverly stormed into the room, heading straight for Eddie's desk. She didn't hesitate pulling out the draws and rummaging through their contents.
"Hey wait!" An annoyed shrill voice called. From the doorway emerged another figure. Stan. The boy moving into the house, "I told you it's under the bed! What are you doing?"
A tall boy with beautiful dark skin pushed past Stan, causing him to glare. It was Mike. He headed straight towards the bed where Eddie and Richie sat, still at kissing distance.
If only they knew they were there.
Mike pulled the duvet away from the floor, his face lighting up at the sight of the Ouija board, "Oh my- Thank you so much Stanley!"
Stan smiled slightly.
"D-d-did you get it?" Bill asked stepping into the room. He seemed the most reluctant of all of them, he was still mourning the loss of his friend. Eddie. Bill had always been the person to deal with grief the worse.
"Woah can I see?" Asked an unfamiliar voice.
Eddie and Richie glanced at each other to see if either of them recognised who the voice belonged to.
That's when a short, slightly chubby boy with sweet blushed cheeks and big curios eyes entered the room.
"Yeah.. come look, Ben," Mike smiled excitedly, gesturing for the new kid to join him.
The two of them admired the board whilst Stanley stood impatiently in the doorway.
Bill joined Beverly's side, furthest away from all the action.Eddie could sense a different vibe off both of them and he couldn't help but think it was because of him. What they had been through was traumatic to say the least. They watched a friend die... How Eddie wished he could let them know he was okay. That he was happy.
Beverly seemed a lot less smiley and bubbly than normal. When she wasn't talking her face was deadpan and her eyes were cold. She looked numb. Eddie could tell because be used to feel the same way sometimes.
On the other hand, Bill seemed more jittery. His eyes darted around continuously like he was trying to catch glimpse of something that wasn't there.
They also shared the same dark bags u see their eyes showing hours of lost sleep.Eddie felt so terrible. He had caused them that pain. He hadn't meant to, but he had regardless.
He wanted to let them know he was okay.
"Rich,"
Richie turned to him, his doe brown eyes still subconsciously and drowsily looking at Eddie's lips. Eddie had to try and stop himself from blushing to stop himself going off course.
"Rich, how can I communicate with them? How can I use the board?" He asked, desperation in his tone.
Richie looked down at Ben and Mike who were geeking out about the board and it's unique patterns,
"To use it you need to build up enough energy... When I used it for the first time, that ginger girl, Molly Ringwald, I don't know-,""Beverly," Eddie interrupted,
"Okay, sorry, Beverly said some kind of chant that gave me enough energy to move the pointer piece... if you want to talk to them you are going to need them to say that chant."
