Chapter 6- Thank You

Dean Sanders

I reached out to touch her cold, unmoving hand. She has been unconscious for three days now and I am beginning to worry. What was wrong with her, and why can't the doctors detect it yet?

I sighed and let go of her hand, resting my back against the chair. I was waiting for my sister to get here, so I walked out of the room and began the journey to the lobby.

Even though the hospital is only one floor, the halls were like a maze. If you didn't read the many signs that lined the hallway corridors you would surely get lost.

I walked into the lobby and towards the desk, noticing the long wavy hair that belonged to my sister, Ashley. She was asking the receptionist what room Mia was in, and all I did was stand by her side.

She noticed I was there and turned to look at me, a big smile on her face.

"Dean! I've missed you!" She said, wrapping her thin arms around my neck. I hugged her back, thankful to be able to see my sister after this long.

"I've missed you too Ashley, how have you been?" I asked, setting her down.

"I've been good with Elliot, he's been really sweet and I fit right in with his pack. They really respect me as their Luna". She smiled brightly while she spoke the words I am always happy to hear. Her mate, Elliot, is Alpha of one of our allies, the Grey Moon pack.

"That's amazing Ashley, I'm so happy for you."

"Thanks Dean, I'm happy you finally found yours. Speaking of her, how is she doing?"

I sighed. "She isn't awake yet, but I'm really happy you came. I appreciate you bringing clothes for her."

"It's no problem at all, anything for you. It's too bad I can't meet her personally, but I have the suitcase in my car. I'll bring it in. What room number is she?"

I smiled. Ashley sure can talk...

"Room 104. Do you need help carrying it?"

"No thanks, I'm good. I'll meet you there."

I nodded my head and began to walk back towards Mia's room, humming a tune to myself down the long, quiet hallways.

I finally came across her room, only to meet my sleeping beauty. I sat in the same chair I've been in since Mia got here, knowing I most likely looked like a zombie with the bags under my eyes.

Ashley walked in not much later, lugging a medium sized suitcase behind her.

"Sorry, I got lost in these never- ending hallways", she said panting.

I chuckled at her actions and got up, setting the suitcase on the counter.

I turned around and saw Ashley at the side of Mia's bed, observing her carefully.

"She's beautiful, Dean. I'm really happy for you", she said giving me another hug.

"Me too", I whispered.

Ashley left a little while afterwards, having to help Elliot tend to his pack. It felt good knowing my sister came, knowing that she would always have my back.

My mother was on her way here, wanting to meet her as well. My father was busy with pack business, so I didn't really expect him to take time out of his day to see his son's sleeping mate.
