* Chapter 20- Big Mistake *
His grip tightend on me the longer I didn't answer. The only thing I could see in his eyes was pure anger; it was like I couldn't stray my eyes away or speak. I was frozen in time, and I couldn't do anything but stand there and look stupid.
I opened and closed my mouth, most likely resembling a fish. I felt Dean's fingernails cutting into my skin, causing me to bite down on my lip.
He growled lowly, making me jump back a bit. "I asked you a question!" He snarled, releasing his grip on one of my wrists. I sighed with relief, but immediately cowarded away when I saw his hand was pulled back, ready to hit me.
I felt tears build up just at the thought he would lay a hand on me. I stared at him with my glossed over eyes, wanting a reaction but his eyes still remained an emotionless black.
When his hand started to come towards me I whimpered loud, mentally preparing myself for the pain. I shut my eyes tight, whilst sobbing loudly into my shoulder.
But I was waiting for the impact that never came. I opened my teary eyes and saw Dean standing a few feet away from me, with his head down and his hands pulling at his messy hair. I wiped my tears away with the sleeve of my jacket which I never even got to take off. I licked my lips and crossed my arms over my chest, replaying these last few moments over in my head.
"I was with my father you dumbass, why would you think I would be with another guy?" I spat angrily, wanting nothing more then to smack him. He looked up at me and guilt flooded his eyes, but it didn't make me or my wolf any less angry. He almost hit us.
"Mia, I'm sorry-"
"Save it", I cut him off rudely before opening the front door and running outside. I slammed it shut behind me, praying that Dean, or anyone for that matter, didn't follow me.
I immediately shifted into my wolf, leaving my shredded clothes on the ground. I sprinted off towards the woods, not caring where I was going. I ran as fast as my four legs would take me, the cool air keeping me from overheating.
I ran far into the woods, stopping only to obey my tired limbs. I laid down and took a break before listening carefully, hoping to hear a source of water nearby.
I decided to get up and walk around, hearing a stream flowing in the distance. I walked through the trees and admired how the disappearing light comes falls through the autumn leaves, making me feel as if I were in some sort of dramatic movie.
As I approached the stream, I couldn't help but notice how familiar the setting was. I began to take a long drink, thinking about why this place seems so familiar.
Then, it hit me. This is where Dean and I met! My wolf whimpered at the thought of him but instantly turned bitter and angry. My emotions were all over the place right now, I didn't know what to believe; my wolf, or my heart.
The sharp sound of a twig snapping broke me out of my daze and I sprang to my feet, ready to attack. I was nervous, and albeit a little scared considering Dean hasn't taught me how to fight in my wolf form yet. I imagined it would be a natural instinct, but I don't really know for sure.
I barked loudly when three grey wolves approached from the forest. They snapped their jaws at me in response, making me step backwards in fear. They all stood before me, watching me with dangerous eyes. Were they from Dean's pack?
One of them shifted and I made sure to keep my eyes elsewhere.
"Shift", he ordered. I growled in reponse, I would never shift in front of these men. I would be fully exposed to some strangers, and I was not having that.
"Well, I guess we're going to have to do this the hard way", the man said.
That's all I remember before I blacked out.

Dean Sanders
I placed my hands under the sink and splashed water onto my hot face, hoping to calm my nerves.
Mia still hasn't returned, and I am going crazy. She wouldn't let me explain why that happened; my wolf has been in contact with her for so long, but we havn't marked or mated with her yet. He is restless and smelling the other wolf on her made him go crazy. He look over, and I couldn't control it. Thank god she screamed out when she did because if she didn't, the situation could have been a lot worse.
I walked downstairs where my father, Beta and Elliot sat. My father had people scouting our territory for any signs of her, seeing as it was dark and she hasn't returned. Elliot had his members doing the same thing as well, just in case she wandered off our territory.
"So, anything?" I asked them, already knowing the answer. They looked up at me and shook their heads, confirming my negative thoughts.
I clenched my jaw and swallowed the lump that gathered in my throat.
I breathed out, trying to calm myself but nothing seemed to work.
"Excuse me", I said to everyone before leaving the kitchen. I went into the bathroom and locked the door before sitting on the closed toilet seat lid.
I shut my eyes and tried to release all my thoughts, but it seemed impossible. I ruined my relationship with my mate over a stupid scent. I should have told her everything sooner, I should have marked her when she first shifted. If I had marked her, we wouldn't be in this predicament right now. I would be able to track her easily and she would be able to communicate with me through the link from any location. Every single little thing is all my fault and I can't do anything about it.
I didn't realize I was crying until I felt the salty teardrops hit my lips. My mate could be in danger; the idea of her getting hurt killed me inside. I began to sob as I buried my face in my hands, letting all my emotions out.
Upon hearing a knock on the door, I stopped, wiping the tears off of my red cheeks. I took a deep breath before opening the door and seeing my Beta, Logan, standing there with an urgent look on his face.
"Alpha Sanders, I think we found something."
That's all he had to say before I pushed him out of my way (obviously apologizing afterwards), and running down the all to find my father who was talking to someone from Elliot's pack.
I looked at him, hopeful that someone had found something to lead me to Mia. He looks at me and nods his head, looking towards someone across the room. I snapped my head in that direction, noticing a scrawny kid in the corner. I raise an eyebrow and walk over to him casually, hoping I didn't intimidate him.
"What happened buddy?" I asked softly, bending down to reach his height.
"I-I saw them", he stuttered out, averting my gaze.
"Saw who?" I questioned, praying he wasn't talking about Mia.
"I-I saw them t-take her...."
