August Alsina POV

I tell Linda to bring Nicki here at the Ritz Carlton 'cause I really wanna surprise her. My surprise is to pop the question y'know. Well not pop the question, but y'know give her that promise ring. 'Cause I kno' what I want and what I want is her. And, I kno' that she wants a future wit' me just as much as I do.

I seen her walk in when I walk up behind her and wrap my arms 'round her hips and kiss her cheek. She giggles when I spin her 'round to face me before I drop the damn phone onna floor. I bend down to pick it up when err'body inna room gasp loud as hell. I just look 'round confused but get why they all gasp; it's' cause I'm on one knee. I quickly get back up and try to calm err'body down before anythin' gets outta hand.

I mean I wanna propose to Nicki but ion wanna do it so soon since we did just get back together. Wanna start a family and all that wit' her... Not like I'm not sure 'cause yeah I am. I'm positive, but ion wanna pop the question and she ain't ready. Or, say the same thing 'bout how we just got together and needa wait. So, I'ma be her friend, her man, her lover, not husband (not yet).

I'ma support my baby, especially since her new album comin' out in two days. She really movin' on up, and I finna stay right by her side. 'Cause I kno' she finna hold me down fo' life too. We just love each other too much to be apart. So, we gotta be togther.

No if, and's, or but's 'bout anythin'.

I grab Nicki's hand and walk her over to a table wit' balloons and cake wit' her face on it. I can see that smile shine bright on her face real hard.

"August, all this for me tho'?" Nicki says breathlessly.

"Yeah baby all this fo' you." I said givin' her a kiss.

"I love you August." Nicki said.

"Baby," I pause sittin' Nicki down inna chair.

"I love you too. You are real special to me and you kno' that." I said. I go and pull a chair up close in front of Nicki and look her deeply inna eyes. I lean in yet fo' another kiss and touch the side of her face before I grab her hands.

"So, I wanna make this promise, this commitment to you that I will always love you." I go in my pocket to pull out the ring when err'body gasps again. Then I see Nicki shakin' her head.

"Look August I love you but..." I cut her off.

"You not ready I kno'." Nicki nod her head in agreement.

"But this is just a promise ring baby. I promise to love and cherish you Nicki. I won't cheat or lie or do anythin' to try an hurt you. I will always be there beside you when you sick or even mad at me. I love you and I wanna be there fo' you Nicki. 'Til you ready to start a permanent life wit' me I will stick 'round you 'til the end. I will be right by your side and hold you down." I said as I put the ring on her finger.

Nicki begins to cry after all that I said to her when she leans in and kiss me and we both stand up and hug. Err'body in there start to cheer and clap before it all dies down and they come fo' the cake. Meanwhile me and Nicki just flash different looks at each other instead of speakin'.

She looks at me dirty and I do the same wit' her when we both sneak away to get a room to ourselves. It's been a minute since we last did and that was about a week ago, so we both need this.

"You ready?" She mouths. I nod my head and we go.

Nicki Minaj POV

Life can't be this good 'cause it started off so crappy to only end so good. I'm making a calendar that is too sexy and my album drops Monday. Not to mention that Bianca's crazy ass is finally outta the picture, yet August wanna keep in contact 'cause of the baby (when it's born) . I'm kinda fine wit' that but then again ion if that's a good, but I'll jump that bridge when we get there. 'Til then life is too sweet, too good.

I finally finish wit' my music video to only and this is definitely gonna slay too. I am real proud of myself that I've accomplished so much. And, I finally got my mn in my corners, my real lover. Nobody who will hurt me and pretend to love me. Although we had our differences inna past, we are movin' forward.

August texts me sayin' that he don' pulled up to my house and he gotta surprise fo' me again. I wonder what it is this time but its gotta wait 'til I get there. Right now I'm out wit' the my sister and two brother's, Jelani, Micaiah, and Ming. Here we are at the. gravesite to leave flowers and balloons at our cousin's tombstone. This brings tears to my eyes whenever we do this together 'cause he's gone.

We are all quiet as each of us place it down in silence and give hugs. Micaiah, Jelani, and Ming leaves as I stand there lookin'. I bend down and kiss the tombstone before I say goodbye and leave.

I turn 'round and say " I love you," I say as I wipe the tears from under my eyes.

I then text August:

Auggie: Baby I'll be home soon.... Love you

I unlock my door and go inside the house expectin' to run into August. But, I don't see him so I just go inna kitchen and get me a Myx.

"August," a girl shouts. I turn 'round to see a young girl here right in my livin'room. Who is this? I put down my Myx and walk up to her when August comes from upstairs and smile.

"Ooh hey Nicki." August said.

"Wow! You're Nicki Minaj." She smiles.

"This is my lil' cousin, Cymphonique. Cymphonique, this is Nicki." August said.

"Nice to meet you Cymphonique. August, can I talk to you fo' a minute." I said pullin' him to the side.

"Ummm... August, mind explainin' to me?" I ask, crossin' my arms.

"I promise my mom's that I would look out fo' her baby. She's gonna be livin' out here fo' a while to finish out her junior year in high school before she goes back home. Or, maybe her senior year to, ion yet. You don't mind do you?" August says.

"No, I don't mind. She seems like an okay kid." I said.

"I mean she is, she just y'know one of those kids." August said.

"Ooh, okay. Well we can handle it." I said.

"Yeah," he says givin' me a kiss.

"Let's just think of this as a practice as bein' parents before we get busy and make our own bad ass babies." We both laugh.
