Who Sent The Dead Among Us?

I shuddered as I heard another terrified scream pierce the cold, gray evening. It's been like this for a few days now, and I sobbed quietly on my cousins shoulder as I remembered that awful night when it all first started. When it ruined my life and Andrews at least.

I lived with my cousins in an average sized house in a small city. We were having a delicious roast beef dinner, when strange noises became heard at the front of our house. Kat, Andrews adorable eight year old sister went to the door to check what it was. The rest of us continued with our dinner. But after 10 minutes or so, Aunt Cece became worried. It was normal of Kat to dawdle and get sidetracked but she shouldn't hav taken this long. So my petit aunt scurried outside to see what the problem was. I had taken a sip of my milk when we heard her scream. A scream that was filled with disbelief and horror. While Andrew pounded me on the back as I choked, my uncle sighed and slowly went to check up on her thinking that his wife was overreacting like she did once on a while. But he should have taken this seriously . He wasn't prepared for what came next.

" Andrew! Karina! Run! Get out of here quick!" uncle Tom bellowed to us.

" Whats wrong Dad?" Andrew called back, becoming nervous at his fathers frantic tone of voice.

" Just leave!" his voice turned pleading.

We're called teenagers for a reason. O course we didnt leave! I ran to the hallway that led to our door with Andrew hot on my heels. I gave a short shriek at what I saw. And I turned away as I heard my poor cousin gasp in shock. Kat, Aunt Cece and. Someone else were crouched in front of my uncle. Their skin was gray and peeling and they were covered in blood. I almost became hysterical when I noticed the monsters ( I didn't think of them as people anymore) were devouring my uncles inner organs.

I went into shock as my uncles lifeless body suddenly started to stir and groan. My dark green eyes couldn't look away until I felt strong arms roughly shoving me to the back door. I came to my senses and ran outside. But we saw more creatures heading toward us. With an aching heart I noticed it was my kindly old babysitter. I quickly looked away and followed my cousin to the dark isolated building.
