--- here is the next part, sorry if u don't like it.

It was the fourth day, since all hell broke loose. Andrew and I looted some empty houses to replenish our food and water supply, and I found myself a nifty little dagger. It was short but it was sharp and it could kill. I also had a baseball bat. Andrew was equipped with a couple of knives and a sturdy hockey stick.

" You ready? Let's go," I said to my cousin as I looked at the bright shining sun. It was early morning and most zombies disappeared until it was dark again.

" Remember Rin, we can't afford to help anyone. It's us against the world now. We can't be nice or generous," Andrew said solemnly, looking at me with weary gray eyes.

" I know Andy," I sighed and shook out my long black hair. " we can only team up with the people that can carry their own wait," I finished, repeating what he told me the other night.

We each slung a large full backpack of food and other necessities. I sadly gazed at all the empty houses on the street. Some door steps were stained with blood and even some decaying body parts were lying around. The plague spread so quickly. As Andrew and I studied them for two whole days we noticed that it only took a bite to transform humans into monsters. I saw a zombie be killed when its head was cut off but other than that I don't think there were any other ways to get rid of them.

We walked on in a gloomy silence, and I knew that Andrew was mourning for his family. I was sad too but I wasn't that close to them. My parents died a year earlier so I lived with them. Last night Andrew decided that we should go to the center of the city to look for strong survivors that would be an asset to our team. So we headed there now. Occasionally we heard people crying and mourning for their dead ones. It was heartbreaking. I mentally reminded myself there was nothing I could do but I still felt so awful.

We were in a dark gloomy ally when we heard a cry.

" Rin! Help me!" I started in shock, as I recognized a classmate from school. We used to be lab partners in biology. I couldn't just stand there and watch him die. I raced to him ignoring Andrews protests. But it was too late. I froze as I saw the undead's foul hand tear into Kam's fleshy stomach and lap up the warm blood that squished out. Kam screamed in pain as it bit off a large chunk of shoulder. Kam's eyes rolled up into his head as the transformation started. His skin immediately turned grey and the blood stopped pouring out of his wounds. Parts of his flesh peeled off revealing pure white bone underneath. He- it roared and screeched as it slumped to it's feet and started toward me.

" damn it Karina, run!" Andrew pulled my arm and we sprinted away from the horror.

" Ohmygosh Andy, that was awful," I sniffled as we sat against a brick building. It took a few moments to catch our breath but soon we started walking again.

" I know it's hard Rin but you can't try to save everybody," Andrew said at last, breaking the silence.

I didn't reply. I wasn't sulking I was just trying to see what that fence thing was up ahead.

" Andrew? I think I see a fence. That isn't supposed to be there right?" I said quickly as I squinted into the sun.

He looked and a grin spread across his handsome face. " I think that's civilization."

We quickened our step and I gave a happy cry as I saw people. Lots and lots of people. We haven't seen so many in such a long time. We raced toward the barricade. We had hope.
