"Damn it," Logan said out loud to an empty room. Why did I say that? She said she was heartbroken, too. But, my god, it was like a knife in my heart to find out Rory and I had a son and she hadn't told me. Does she even care about my feelings? She knew me like no one ever has, so why couldn't she tell that I still loved her.

Picking up his phone he pressed the familiar number. "Mate, what's up? How are you?"

"Finn, where are you? I'm in New York and I need to talk to you."

"You don't sound good, Huntz. But, you're in luck, I'm just coming into the city. What's the matter?"

"I'll tell you when I see you. I'm at The Four Seasons. Can you get here before 9 o'clock?"

"Yeah. I should be there by 8."

"Okay, Finn. Thanks."

I ordered dinner from room service and while I waited, I thought about how wonderful it was to see Rory today. Even though I was mad at her now, I knew it wouldn't last. I have loved her for so long. It's just impossible to stop. Why didn't I listen to her messages—she was reaching out—trying to tell me something. I'm was so stupid. Stupid and afraid. Afraid she would break my heart again and then, I'd be totally destroyed. I'm such an ass. I've hurt her very badly. I would never not be there for Rory when she needed me. Now I need to figure out how to fix things.

There was a knock on the door.

"Huntz, it's been a while! You look like hell, mate."

"Well, I feel worse than hell. I saw Rory today."

"Uh, normally she puts you in a good mood. What's going on?"

"Rory wrote a book. It's about her life experience with her mom, growing up in Stars Hollow, being a part of Hartford society but not living that life until she's 15. At the end of the book she explains that she, too, found herself single and pregnant—just like her mother was at 16."

"The book is based on true events but the characters, places, etc., have been changed to protect the innocent."

"Shit, man. Does that mean what I think it means?"

"Yes. I'm suppose to meet my son tomorrow."

"Your son? You didn't know about him until you read the book? Why didn't Rory tell you?"

"She tried to tell me. I just didn't know that she was."

"What the bloody hell does that mean? I need another scotch."

Finn got up to get himself another drink. I continued to explain about the five left messages that I never listened to and me storming into her book signing today. I told him how I had yelled at her that I couldn't take another heartbreak.

"She told me that she was heartbroken, too. I have to be a part of my son's life and I've got to get Rory back."

Finn started pacing around the room talking to no one in particular, "So,I take it this happened in New Hampshire, since you haven't seen her since. The War Lord's crap 'dynastic plan' is the sole reason this went down. You live in London and I take it Rory would not be moving there, so we have to get you back here somewhere. And, you have to get down on your knees and beg forgiveness from the love of your life. I don't know how we're going to do it, but I'm on the phone to Colin and Robert."

"Logan, from now on call me Uncle Finn."

I smiled at that comment. It had been a long time since I smiled and really felt it inside. My heart started beating fast thinking about seeing Rory tomorrow and meeting my son for the very first time. Would he be like me or my Ace?

"Hey, Finn, could you go with me tomorrow to see Rory?"

"Mate, I don't know if that's a good idea. Won't you both have a lot to talk about. I don't want to be in the way."

"I'll send Rory a text and see what she thinks."

Hi, I hope you're having a good evening. Finn is in town and I wonder if it'd be OK if he came with me tomorrow. By the way, you'll need to send me your address. Thanks, L

I was putting Fitz down for the night and started to get in the shower when I heard my phone ping. Picking it up, I saw a familiar number. All these years later and Logan still has his old number. Surprised to see a text, I opened it. After reading the message, I smiled knowing my old friend Finn was in town. Thinking about it one minute, I decided it might be a good idea for him to come along with Logan.

Hi, that will be Finn's choice. I'm at The Plaza but checking out tomorrow and heading home to Hartford. I'm living in my grandparents' house. Should be there by 11. I would love to see Finn. R

Holding my phone to read the message from Ace really warmed my heart to see it. I didn't realize how much I missed just seeing a text from her.

We'll see you by 12. Thanks, Rory. L

"Hey, Finn, we're going to Hartford tomorrow."

"Okay. I've talked to Colin and Robert and we'll get together to come up with a plan. You're going to have to deal with Herr Huntzberger. You better be ready for a fight because he won't want to let you out from under his thumb."

"I don't know about that. Mitchum wasn't really the one behind the'dynastic plan'. It was her highness Shira that was on the heiress wagon. Dear old Dad might come over to my side when he knows what I have to offer him."
