The remainder of our weekend in Maine was spent eating lobster endlessly, walking the beach, watching the beautiful night sky light up with stars and making love—not the wild abandon lovemaking like that first night, but slow, intimate and amazingly sweet.

When we returned and were able to get our precious boy, Fitz, in our arms; we played, laughed and snuggled with him for hours. He was walking so much better now and he was all over the apartment in a heartbeat. His language skills were progressing very fast, too. Logan deemed he would be a genius just like his mom. I laughed it off. Logan never wanted to admit to having as much in the intelligence department as me. But, I knew he did.

A couple of weeks after we had come home from Maine, Logan and I had a date night at a favorite restaurant of ours. After the drinks were delivered to our table and our orders were placed, Logan lifted his glass to mine. "Here's to you, Ace. The only woman I've ever loved, the amazing mother to my son, a top selling author, and the next Features Editor at HPG."

"What? Logan, explain yourself."

He pulled me up close to sit next to him. "Ace, I want you by my side at the company. We work great together—at least we did at Yale. It's going to be our company one day and that day is fast approaching. You and I, baby, could be an amazing power couple."

"Logan, I'm writing a book. We're about to get married in less than a month and we wanted to try for another baby, too. When am I going to have time to work at HPG?"

"So, I was thinking just two days a week for now. That way, you still have time to write and if we get pregnant again, you could work until your due date. Then, you'll have plenty of experience under your belt."

I looked at him with a glare. "When did you hatch this plan?"

"W-e-l-l, I've been thinking about it for a while," he answered with a smirk.

"Come on, Ace. You know you want to do it. I bet you really miss being in a news room. You're so good at getting the best story out of everyone and fine tuning all the articles. Think about it, okay?"

"Let me ask you this, Mr.Huntzberger. What is the pay for this job?"

"You've got to be kidding. You want to know what I'm going to be paying you? Miss Gilmore, you're about to marry the future CEO of the company."

"I don't give a damn about that and you know it. Your money has never meant a thing to me. I want to be paid what I'm worth because I'll always be on the side of a woman being recognized for her work ethic and her accomplishments—just like a man would."

"You know I'll pay you plenty not because you're going to be my wife, but because you're one of the best in the industry. I know what you're worth, Ace."

"There is the fact that I come with extra benefits, too, Logan," I whispered in his ear. Then, gave him a kiss.

"Those perks belong to me, job or no job, right?"

"Yes and am I ever glad. So, I'll think about it."

"Okay, but don't think too long. I might give the job to someone else."

I slapped his arm. "Logan Huntzberger. Take that back. You will most certainly not."

He laughed out loud then pulled me to him. "You're too easy to tease. I could never give that job to anyone but my girl, my Ace."

God that smirk on his face. "You can still make my heart flutter with that smile. I love you."

"Good, because I plan on having you look at this face for a very long time. I can't wait to work along side of you again. I love you, too."

"Now, let's toast. To the amazing Rory Gilmore Huntzberger, future Features Editor of HPG."

"I'm not a Huntzberger yet."

"Close enough."

"Well, I say let's toast to Logan and Rory Gilmore Huntzberger, future power couple of the media/journalism industry."

"Here, here. To us, Ace."

Rory stepped into Logan's office over the next couple of weeks to meet a few people and generally to just take a quick tour of the Editing Department.

As the weekend approached, there was to be a bachelor and bachelorette party on the same night. It was decided that they'd go their separate ways for several hours but would end up all together in a grand suite at The Plaza at the end of the night.

Stephanie, Juliet, Rosemary, Rory, Paris and Lane had decided, after a taco dinner (of course) to start at a favorite roof-top bar of the girls where there was live music. The drinks were flowing all night and all of them were drinking up and dancing like they were Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda. The single life was over for most of these New York City girls, but they could still party down.

They didn't arrive back at the suite until one in the morning. The guys, surprisingly, were already in their rooms. Rory creep quietly into her and Logan's bedroom so that she wouldn't wake him. He wasn't asleep, though. Rory didn't turn on any lights so she had a little trouble stumbling over somethings in the room. A light went on and she jumped.

"You okay there, Ace?," he asked from the bed. Propped up with his hands behind his head he had that famous smirk on his face.

"Oh, sorry. I didn't wake you, did I? I'm fine, Logan. Go back to sleep," Rory mostly slurred as she made her way to the bathroom.

Logan waited for her to return from the bathroom and to get in the bed. As he turned out the light, he asked, "did you have fun tonight?"

"We had a blast. Danced up a storm and drank a lot of this one drink called 'sex and the city.'"

"You don't say, Ace? Did you dance with any hot, hunky guys?"

"My darling Logan, why would I dance with a hunky guy when I have the hottest guy in town waiting for me in a hotel room?"

"You really are drunk and are going to regret this tomorrow. You're going to need tacos, aren't you?"

"Ssshhh. Go to sleep. Yes, I'm going to need tacos. Why did I eat tacos for dinner tonight?," she moaned and pulled the covers over her head.

The next morning Logan was there with a glass of water and two aspirin, plus a cup of coffee. Rory took them from him with a sheepish look.

"Thanks, I was out of it last night. Did I wake you up?"

"No. We hadn't been in the room long when all of you returned. You were rather wasted, Ace. Should I order tacos?"

She chuckled. "No. I think I'll take a full breakfast, instead. All of us are doing a spa treatment this morning. I'm definitely going to need this face repaired for sure."

"That face is as beautiful as ever. Hydrate, baby. Hydrate."

"God, I know. My days of that much drinking are definitely going to be a thing of the past."

"I'm glad you had a good time," he told her as he gave her a kiss on the forehead. "Get up out of that bed and let's go feed that Gilmore iron stomach of yours. Otherwise, I'm going to ravish your body."

"Oh, no ravishing today, Logan. Sorry, you'll have to wait until tomorrow," she told him as he yanked the covers off of her.
