Logan was flying commercial, but at least he was in first class. After about three hours into the flight, he looked out the window at the clouds below. He thought to himself only a week ago I was merely working and not enjoying my life very much. Tonight I will be returning to my apartment knowing I have a beautiful son and the future was definitely looking up. It had felt good to tell his dad he was going to move back to the states and take the reigns at the company. Mitchum knows I have worked my ass off. Yes, things were definitely looking up. And Rory still looked incredible. It will be exciting to see her again in a couple of weeks. Taking out his phone he pulled up the picture of Rory and Fitz.

Back at home that night, I kept my phone nearby thinking I might hear from Logan. I was hoping everything went well with the Huntzberger's. My publisher was pushing me to get started writing another novel. I just had to decide if I wanted to write about the unique Stars Hollow's characters or start up something about the eccentric Paris Geller and her quirky life.It would probably be best if I let these ideas roll around in my head for a few days. Picking up my phone I opened the picture of Logan and Fitz. Smiling to myself I still can't believe Logan Huntzberger was actually in my house and met our son.

As the sun started pouring into my bedroom I was waking slowly, listening for Fitz. My phone started vibrating on the night stand. Picking it up as I pushed myself out of the bed, I see that it's Logan.

"Hi."

"Hey, Ace. Am I calling too early?"

"No, Logan. Not at all. Fitz hasn't woken up yet though. He must be tired from his busy weekend."

"Oh, I'm sure that must be it. So,I was thinking about when I'd be back in the states and I just want to ask you to go with me to look at apartments. Plus, I'd like for you to do some furniture shopping with me for Fitz' room. For all your trouble, I'll take you out to dinner."

"Logan, I'd be happy to go with you and look at apartments and furniture. But, you don't have to take me out to dinner. I'm happy to do a favor for a friend."

"Ace, come on. Let me take you out for dinner. I bet you haven't had a night out in a while."

"Okay, listen. I'll make a deal with you. I'm going to make an appointment with a therapist and I'll agree to dinner if you agree to a session. How about it?"

"Well, that sounds like an even trade. Let's do it."

"I'll set it up, then, and text you the appointment time. Should I dare ask how breaking the baby news went?"

"Not too bad, Ace. I told Mitchum I was going to be back in the states before Fitz' birthday and that I knew he could make it happen. He wasn't that upset about the baby. Mom on the other hand, well you know her. She asked for a paternity test. I'm not at all asking you to do it because I don't need it."

"Logan, it's nothing that I didn't expect. I'm glad to do it. And, I'm glad you told Mitchum what you wanted. Listen, I hear our boy waking up and he's going to be hungry, I'm sure."

"So, he got those insatiable Gilmore hunger genes. I better let you go then."

"Yeah. Okay, it's good to talk to you. Thanks for calling."

"Yeah, it's good to talk to you, too. We'll talk again soon. Good-bye, Ace."

"Good-bye, Logan."

As Logan returned to work he set himself up to really get the ball rolling on his transition to the states and for initiating the team to take his place in London. If there was any time to impress Mitchum, it was definitely now. Logan knew he was up to this challenge. It was probably the most important step he would make in his career. And, he wanted to do it for Fitz and for Ace.

The rest of the week raced by and before I knew it, it was time to start packing for our overnight stay in Nantucket. About one o'clock on Friday my phone was signaling. As I pick it up I see it's a Face Time call from Logan. "Oh crap, I look a mess. Whatever."

Answering, I see his face. "Hi," I say with a big smile.

"Hey, Ace. I was hoping to catch you and see how your week was. Mine has been crazy. I wanted to see Fitz, too, if it's possible."

"Yeah. Are you still at work? It's about 7 o'clock there and on a Friday night? No hot date, Logan."

"No, I've hardly had time to breathe this week. I wanted to talk to you before now, but I've really been swamped. How was your week?"

"It was productive. Okay, let me see if Fitz is awake. He's been napping." Opening his bedroom door, I see him sitting in his bed. He pulls himself up when he sees me. "Hey, sweetie. Someone wants to see you." I hold the phone where I think Logan can see him. "Can you see him? He's ready to get out of his bed."

"Yes, I see him. Hi, buddy. It's your Dad. Have you been good this week?"

"His face perked up when he heard your voice. Let me put the phone down and pick him up."

I hold the phone out so I can see Logan and he can see the two of us.

"Now that's a beautiful sight. Definitely worth waiting all week to see."

"Your daddy is a flirt Fitz."

"Hey, that's no lie. Really, Ace, I meant every word. I wasn't trying to flirt with you."

"Logan, I look awful. No make up with my hair pulled up in a messy bun."

"I always like you looking messy, Ace. It's just sexy."

"Now, that was flirting," I smiled coyly at him as I put Fitz in his rolling bouncer chair.

"Yeah, you're right. What's on your calendar for the weekend?"

"Mom, Luke, Fitz and I are off to Nantucket tomorrow to break the news to Grandma that you're the father."

"Should I have the guys there to protect you?"

"No, I think it will be alright. Grandma has mellowed a lot the last couple of years. Plus, she and Grandpa always liked you and she was very disappointed I turned down your proposal. I'll be okay. Thanks though."

"Just give the word and I'll be sure they're there."

"Well, I'd love to see all the gang again but, I think I'm safe for this weekend. You need to get out of the office and enjoy some down time."

"Yes, I know. I'm on my way out the door now. Have a good weekend, Ace, and be sure to give my best to Emily. I'll see you next week."

"I will, Logan. See you soon." I held the phone so he could see Fitz. Holding his little hand to wave good-bye." Say bye Daddy." Fitz just giggled. "Bye, Logan."

A/N:  I'll be back in a couple days with another part.  Our couple will be together again soon.  Good things always happen when that happens.  Thanks for reading and voting.  Any comments are welcome.
