She lands at the foot of the temple they shelter in and she ruins going to set up camp near a river closer to the temple. She sits on a rock and holds her hand out bending the water from the river.
She stops when she hears a branch crack behind her. She turns poised to fight. "You!" Rai tilts her head trying to remember the girl before her. "The fake water bender" the girl says. Rai doesn't say anything as the girl says.

"Aang who is that?" Sokka comes in and his eyes widen when he sees Rai. "You're alive" he whispers. Rai nods and he says "come on let's get you somewhere to sit down..." he says. "I didn't know I'd be welcome" Rai whispers as Rai sits down on a couch made of earth padded with blankets. Rai sits down and Sokka hands her a cup of water. "Drink it.." he says. Rai takes it and drinks it slowly. "I...I am sorry about your tribe."
Sokka nods and he puts a hand on her shoulder. "Do you know where they'd be taken?" "Boiling rock possibly" Rai says.
Sokka nods and Rai says I'm sorry I don't know where it is. Sokka nods and he says "would Zuko?" "Why?" "He came here earlier asking to join us." "You're sure it was him?" Sokka nods. "He even offered him self up as a prisoner." Sokka says. "He was sincere" Toph says. "You know I'd know if he was lying." Rai sighs and she says "I...I would've stood up for him before." "But now?" "Everyone deserves a chance Rai says quietly." "I'm not going let what he did to me prevent Aang from learning fire bending." "That's what he asked didn't he?" Sokka nods. Which is never going to happen Katara says coming in. She crosses her arms. "What are you doing here?" "Katara I told you Rai protected me" Aang says. "Yeah and I bet she sold you out to her cousin over there how else would he have known where we were going?" She says. "That's rich" Rai says "you think I sold Aang out to Zuko?" "Well think again." "I got arrested Katara I didn't tell them anything." "Wait they let you go?" Sokka asks. "More like I escaped" Rai says. "Me and my grandfather." "General Iroh?" Sokka says.
Rai nods. "Where is he?" "Gathering allies" Rai says. "Remember that cottage I led you to?" Sokka nods. "The symbol on the door it's a calling card for his elite group."
It was a flower" Katara says. "What is he a leader of flower a arrangement club?" "Funny" Rai says "no my grandfather is part of a group that started before the nations and works to keep balance in the world." Rai says. "But that's Aang's job."
Rai sighs. "The avatar does not work alone Katara they never have." Rai says calmly. "Whatever" Katara says. "I'm going to make dinner feel free to find your own food." Rai stares after her as Sokka says "don't worry I'll get you some food." "This was a mistake." Rai stands up shakily and she steps back from Sokka. "I thought" she shakes her head.
