Rai continues to back away her eyes widen when she hears a loud noise like a screeching "take my hand." Rai turns and she looks into the man's eyes hiding beneath a hood. She takes his hand and he wraps his arm around her and says hold on. He shoots an arrow and they lift off into the air and land on a roof. Rai breaks off from him and he says "you're not from here are you?" Rai looks down below at the people getting out of cars her eyes wide. "Did those men attack you?" Rai nods slowly and doesn't turn. He turns away speaking softly so Rai doesn't hear.
"Felicity? I'm fine." "There's a girl here...she was attacked". "No I didn't do anything she handled it." He turns back to the girl and sees that her hood is still covering her face. "I'm not sure she will tell me who she is." "She doesn't speak English" "ok I've got to go." Rai watches the man put a device in his pocket. He switches the hand he's holding his bow with. Then he says "are you hungry?" Rai's eyes widen. "Follow me" he says finally. She follows him down the fire escape and he goes to a building and he says "stay close to me." Rai only nods and follows him inside.
Rai waits behind him as he speaks to the woman at the counter. "You're him!" "Well I guess you've got to eat too"...Rai watches him nod and glance at her. He pays the girl with some paper and coins and then he says "let's find a table ok?" Rai nods and sits across from him her back is arched as she quickly takes in the restaurant...building a map in her mind her hand goes to her side where her dagger rests. "Hey you're safe" Rai doesn't look at him as the woman brings them their food. "Thanks" "who's your friend?" "Someone that needs ...a friend" the woman smiles at Rai and Rai turns away.
Rai watches beneath her hood as he begins to eat and she picks up the sandwich tentatively and takes a small bite. Then she takes a sip of the thick brown drink and her eyes widen. "It's like hot chocolate...but cold" she sees a small smile beneath the hood and then he says "why are you out alone?" Rai sets the cup down and doesn't answer.
"Where are you from?" Rai looks down but doesn't answer. "Are there others?" Rai shakes her head. "I came through alone..." she says finally. "But that doesn't mean others won't come." "Others?" Rai nods and munches on a fry.
She sniffs it liking the taste before biting it again. "What kind of others?" Rai shakes her head and he sees the fear cross her face. "I know things and they'll do anything to...find out" "information" Rai nods. She takes another sip of her milkshake and they continue to eat in silence.
They step out of the restaurant and they begin to walk along the street. Rai's eyes flick around and she turns ducking as a tranq dart almost pierces her skin. Her eyes widen and she looks around turning in circles as the hooded figure suddenly grabs her shoulders. "I don't want to harm you" Rai pushes him off with a surprising amount of strength and she stumbles rolling on the ground as she looks around for the one with the bow she turns catching another arrow in her hand her eyes widen as a tranq dart pierces her skin and she stumbles her eyes flickering the world spins as the hooded figure comes over apologizing. She falls into his arms before her head hits the pavement.
