That's it. I'm there. I took out the window and watch the houses and mosques get closer closer, the plane finally landing. I don't realize that I, Kaylee, a little moroccan girl, arrived in Indiana with my best friend. I convince myself that this is what I needed. I had to get away from my family and especially my father, change my daily life and take risks. It is true what, nothing ever happened to me ! My life was dictated by my father, I had a rather bizarre childhood. I needed to discover a lot of things, fight my comfort zone and have confidence in myself. We will collect our luggage, our eyes happy.
I have absolutely no idea what we are about to experience. We head out of the airport, and try to hail a taxi. I fail so miserably that it is ridiculous, Mara helped me as best as she could but nothing to do. No taxi notices us, while the people around us crowd inside. And suddenly, I hurry to stop a taxi as quickly entered inside like nothing us.
Comfortably seated, Mara gave the address to the driver. He does not speak and sings the songs on the radio loudly. Which, in the end, we arrange well, to devote ourselves to the discovery of the city. The landscape paraded and I'm damn impressed by what surrounds us. The car finally stopped, presenting us with the immense University of Art with its bright colors. It is literally incredible ! After presenting ourselves to the secretariat to sign some papers, Mara and I head to the campus to find our room, one of which had the duplicate keys of the other. This is where we will live for about a year, and I hope we will be at home, as slow as possible. I chose to take a room with Mara, to feel comfortable there. Opening the door, Mara is pleasantly surprised and so am I. The white of the walls is ultimately delightful, as I expected, symbolizing a new beginning. The room is large, there are two beds on the left and the right, just below, there is a window overlooking a parking lot on the left, and another window overlooking a garden. There are also two desks on the left and the right where we can study and two closets for each. When we are finally done putting away our things and decorating the room with our personal belongings. Night had already fallen on Indiana, I went to bed with a heavy heart of apprehension and Mara too.
When I woke up, I had a lump on my stomach, I was really petrified ! I go to the bathroom first and take a good shower. I get ready, do my hair, make up and gather all my stuff, Mara does it too. Unfortunately we did not have the course programs for obvious reasons. Let's go !
We each leave on our side. The university is huge, I find it hard to find the room for my first lesson. Wandering the corridors, I notice a girl who seemed to know the campus better than I did. She is tall, her medium long brown hair were well done. She puts her blue eyes on me and comes in my direction. And said : Hi ! Would you go to cultural diversity course ? Yes ! But unfortunately I don't know where it is, I'm in the first year, I said looking at her in front of me. I know where the room is, it's here, I'm in my first year too, my aunt works in administration, she said smiling. Thank you, it's very nice, I said, smiling too. We take our places in the room, one next to the other. She turned to me and said, holding her hand : Really, my name is Laura and you ? I'm Kaylee, I said, gesturing. EXCELLENT READING, I LOVE YOU !
