Sampson turned to Grandfather and roared, his massive face and gaping hole of a mouth inches away from his face. Grandfather faced him, determination in this old man's eyes. Sampson raised a hand and smacked Grandfather down the road and into a building next to us. I yelled in rage and started firing. My team joined and all fired endlessly at the monster.
He just stood there, as if to mock us. He laughed and raised his hands.
"ARE YOU ALL DUMB? I AM THE NEXT LEVEL OF EVOLUTION! THE PERFECT COMBINATION OF MONSTER AND MAN! I'M INDESTRUCTIBLE!"
He grabbed an old car and chucked it at us at an amazing speed. We all jumped out of the way as the car smashed into the spot in the road we were just at, creating a small crater. I looked to my team, then back at the monster. Trying to think of a plan. But before I could, Sampson ran at us with more speed than something of his size should go.
He jumped and I noticed his trajectory. I yelled at my team to take cover but before they could, Sampson landed and the force threw us away, splitting us into two groups on either side of him. I looked up to see Jules on my side, meaning Kent and Ella were on the other. Jules was holding her hand and looked to be in immense agony. I tried crawling over to her but then my foot was suddenly filled with white hot pain that made me yelp.
I looked down to see my left boot had a bone sticking out. I was amazed that it was only my foot but I struggled through the pain to stand. Once I was finally up, I looked to see Sampson staring down at me. He smirked and grabbed me. His giant hand and extreme grip barely left room to breath.
I managed to get my right hand out with my knife and stab him. He seemed unfazed by my small weapon as he rose me up to his black hole of a mouth. The stench of an uncovered cemetery leaked out and into my nostrils. I almost threw up from the disgusting odor. But before he could stick me inside, I heard Jules.
"Wait!"
Sampson stopped and turned to face his daughter. She had made a cast out of her jacket for her hand, leading me to believe something was broken.
"Dad... This isn't you! This is the virus! Fight it dad! Please!"
Sampson just stared at her, giving me time to release my left hand with a grenade. Sampson didn't realize that when I was stabbing him, I was making a hole big enough to fit a grenade. I pulled the pin and shoved the grenade into his wrist before turning as much as I could away from it. Jules saw what I did and shook her head.
"I'm sorry dad..."
Sampson finally took notice of me and saw the small hole in his wrist, which led to him dropping me and the grenade going off right after he let go, sending me, and his hand, flying. I slammed through a nearby window and a wall on the inside. I laid there in the wall and closed my eyes, passing out.
