39 - First Birthday Together

"Have you eaten?" Key asked through the line as he opened the lunchbox that she has packed for him.

(I'm already eaten!) She replied. (I and Siwan are enjoying some ice cream. Have you eaten?)
"About to eat!"
(Then eat! See you this evening!)
"Geurae! Love you!"
(Love you too!) He placed his phone on the table before digging into his lunch.

"He's completely clueless!" Eunji mumbled after she hung up the call. She looked at Siwan who was taking his afternoon nap.
Well, since she's pregnant, Key decided to let her stay home all the time and let Naeun handle all her work. At first, of course, the CEO didn't agree, but after getting some threatening from Key, the CEO has no choice, but to agree.

Eunji quietly climbed off the bed and left the room before heading over to the kitchen.
"Are you sure you don't need help?" Mrs Kim asked again.
"Nae, omonim!" She replied and took out the ingredient one by one.
"Call me if you need help." Nanny added.
"Nae!"

Mixing the dry and wet ingredients together, Eunji whisked the ingredients carefully before pouring it into the cake pan and popped it into the oven. While that's happening, she whipped up the cream and chocolate together since chocolate cream was his favorite.

Meanwhile, Mrs Kim and Nanny were watching from the kitchen entrance and grinned widely. 
"Kibum got himself a good wife." Mrs Kim said.
"You are the one who get him this good wife." Nanny added.
"Kibum's appa can really rest in peace now." Mrs Kim said. It's the last promise she had promise to her husband, 'Take care of Kibum and get him a good wife.'

Carefully frosting the cake, Eunji looked really serious. She needed this cake to be perfect. It's his first birthday party with her. Everything has to be perfect.

Key parked the car in the garage before heading into the house, completely clueless about his birthday. Aigoo! This birthday boy!
"Oh! Why is the light turn off?" He exclaimed as soon as he entered the house. Slipping in his slippers, he switched on the light before...
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" He widen his eyes as she saw the sight.
"Wh..wh...what happen?" He asked and looked around. Balloons and banners are around the living room.
"Dumb!" Jinki said. "It's your birthday!"
"My birthday?" He pointed to himself. His eyes landed on Eunji who walked toward him while holding a chocolate, he assumed by its appearance.
"Happy birthday, hubby!" She smiled. "Pray and blow the candles." He blew the candles after praying.
"Woah!" Everyone clapped. "Time to eat!"
"Happy birthday, forgetful birthday boy!" She pecked on his lips. "Love you!"
"Love you too!"

"Thank for today!" Key wrapped his arms around her waist while she was standing in the balcony. She decided to get some fresh air after everyone left and everything cleaned up.
"It's okay!" She replied and faced him. "It's your first birthday with me, isn't it?" She wrapped her arms around his neck and tilted her head.
"It is!" He pecked on her lips. 
"Oh, I forgot!" She walked into their bedroom with Key trailing behind and took a box from the drawer. "For you!" He gave him and he opened it. It was two necklaces, a couple necklace to be exact with some curved letters on it.

Kibum & Eunji 

"Wow!" He beamed.
"I don't know if you like wearing necklace or not." She said.
"I love it, especially if it's from my beautiful wifey!" He winked.
"Cheesy!" She pinched his nose bridge. "I put it on you." She took one of the necklace out and Key slightly squated down to her level. "Done!" She said and smiled.
"I put this one for you!" He said and clasped the necklace around her neck. "Love you!" He leaned in for a kiss. Sneaking her arms around his neck again, she stroked his hair and grabbed the back of his neck to deepen the kiss. 

It's the best birthday ever for him!
