The sensation was euphoric and electric. The charge of it all hit Briggan like a train, making his legs feel as if they were made of jelly. He wrapped his arms around his newfound lover's neck to get support, also aiming to deepen the moment. Mastace grabbed Briggan and pulled him in closer, making the kiss last for what seemed like an eternity. Briggan felt all his worries and all his reservations about anything melt away from the moment their lips touched. He certainly had no problems with feeling this way, not at all. Finally, the two separated and gazed into each other's eyes with a new passion that neither had known before.
"So, how do you feel?" Briggan asked, bringing their foreheads together until they touched and held them there.
"Kind of weird, but... in a good way, I think." Mastace grinned sheepishly, his face becoming a bright red.
"Any regrets that you can think of?"
"No,"
"Good, because I'm gonna do it again." Briggan said, and he did.
He leaned back in and brushed their lips together, this time putting much more need and raw emotion into the kiss. Mastace felt absolutely stunned, having been blown out the water. They tilted their maws so that the fit was much more comfortable. They both knew immediately that from the moment their lips made first contact, all their doubts and all their fears had been purged from their minds and souls. Debate was no longer an option, this was what they wanted and they were going to go for it. They were going to enjoy whatever they chose with whomever they chose to do it all with. Anyone outside of this newly born relationship that made an attempt to tell either of them otherwise was a threat to the sanctity that Briggan and Mastace now shared between them, and Mastace determined that he was going to protect this, protect him, at any and all costs.
Briggan wholly enjoyed the feeling of being enveloped in the warmth of another. He never knew just how soothing just lying in bed with someone, holding them as he, too, was being held. It grounded him, gave him the validation he had always craved. He never realized just how much he actually wanted this feeling, but it all made sense now that he had right here in his arms.
Briggan nestled into Mastace's chest, relishing in the warmth. Not long after, he began hearing a strange rumbling and feeling a small, continuous vibration in Mastace's neck and chin. He looked up at the lion with a teasing expression. "Are you-?"
Mastace looked at him a moment, then nodded once with a broad smile on his face. Briggan couldn't help but get a little flushed in the face. A rosy pink played upon his features and his entire head felt real hot. His ears drooped and he began to giggle. "It's cute," Briggan said.
"Thank you," Mastace said, giving the wolf an increase in the volume so that his purring could be more easily heard.
"No, I should be thanking you. Even when I put up one hell of a fight, you never gave up on me. You might not have been fighting me the whole time, but you were definitely determined to see me begin to heal. You gave me the will to fight."
"I'm glad that I was able to make a positive impact on your life. It means a lot to me that I was able to help you."
"I have to be honest, Mastace. I think that you very well may have saved my life. I don't know if I'll ever be able to do anything to repay you." Briggan nestled in closer, letting their shared body heat wash over him in waves.
Mastace pondered on this. "I don't think there's a need to repay me, Briggan. You also gave me a reason to fight. In fact, I'll say that you've given me a life to fight for. That's something I never really had until now."
"How about this?" Briggan compromised. "Instead of one of us thanking the other, what if we thanked each other?"
"Sounds good," Mastace said as he nuzzled his new boyfriend.
