"Where. The. Hell. Have. You. Been?!" my mom is furious, I don't blame her of course. I'm dead, she's going to kill me. Or she'll tell dad ad he'll kill me. I try to think of an excuse for where I was but I'm too hungover to think properly. "Mom, stop talking please." I wince at the pain in my head. "Elena Gilbert, are you hungover?" she says in a low angery voice. "I just wanted to have fun," I say while focussing on the grey tiles of the floor. "I didn't think I'd end up wasted." My mom looks at me with pity in her eyes. "Oh Elena, really? You should have expected that." I'm surprised by her answer. Am I still dreaming? Why isn't she yelling my ears off anymore? "Let this be a learning experience and don't ever do that agian. Am I clear?" her voice is stern but not loud. "Crystal clear." I say and start walking to my bedroom. What just happend? "But honey, you can take your phone to school but when you get home you're will give it to me for the rest of the evening. For a week." I groan, I really should have expected this. "And your grounded until spring break."

I walk to school on Monday. Mom didn't tell Dad, thank God. I spent the weekend recovering from 'the stomach flu' in reality it was a terrible hangover. Thankfully my mom backed me up by saying that she hasn't been feeling so great either and that I probably got the bug from her. I haven't really thought about what to say to Stefan. Do I say something? Or do I pretend it never happend? I mean, it's not like I remember having sex with him. "Hey there crazy person," Caroline greets me in front of school. "Feel any better than Saturday morning?" I roll my eyes at her question. "Yeah, sure. I feel better. My mom caught me though. I'm grounded until spring break." Caroline looks at me with pity in her eyes. Then her face lights up. "I guess we'll have to make spring break extra awesome." I give her a confused look. What does that mean? Extra awesome? The perky blonde sees my confusion and explains. "We"ll make spring break your crazy welcome back party. We all thought you were super fun and would like to initiate you to the group." I'm shocked at her words. They like me that much? It would be fun to have a real group of friends in Mystic Falls, but after last Friday I'm starting to wonder if my father's right. "Yeah that would be nice. I'd love to be a member of your group of friends." Why did I say that? What am I getting myself into? I decide to keep the conversation going. "So where is Tyler?" I ask. She gives me a cheeky smile. "Why? Are you looking to steal my man?" I can't help but laugh at her. "Me? stealing Tyler? No way! I would never dream of it!" I exclaim. "So tyler isn't the guy you want huh?" I choke, what did she just say? "Wha- what do you mean? There is no guy." I reply a bit sheepishly. The blonde gives me a knowing look. "So Stefan meant absolutely nothing to you?" The school bell rings as I am about to reply. "Whoops, that's the bell, have to go, bye Care." I say and rush off to class. Well that was awkward.

I attend my classes but I'm not focused at all. I have one thing on my mind. Where the hell is Stefan Salvatore?

This is a filler chapter. Boring, I know! Next chapter will be in Lexi's pov. I'm not going to change pov's often but to be able to tell Stefan's side of the story next chapter, I will have to do it. You'll get to learn some stuff about him that is imortant for the rest of this book.
