Kona remained laid down on his back. He was just in the middle of contemplating whether or not it was wise to use his healing powers to cure his weakness. Does weakness count as something that needed healing?

He had never really tried it. Not even once but he was more than willing to try it now that he knew his presence at he gathering was needed. He set his mind to make an appearance.

He felt so weak. The experience had really done a number on him.

Could his healing powers really be used to rid his body of the weakness it felt? Well there was only one way to find out...

He lifted his arm up from his side slowly and closed his eyes in concentration. Now all he had to do was take focus on a specific area, one that was wounded. He zoned out all sounds around him and for a time he was in his own world.

The familiar heat started gathering in his torso and made its way to his hand. Dust and small particles of dirt started whirling around him in lazy paths. A slight whispy sound like multiple whispers could be heard and his hand held a faint golden luminescent glow.
He could feel his power working. Now all he had to do was focus the energy of the Ozuna on a spot on his body but again, there was a slight problem.

When someone needed healing, Kona would sense it. The particular part would emit a warmth that initiated the healing process. However now he couldn't feel any particular warmth on his body that called for healing.

He hovered his hand over his body and focused a few moments more.

Nothing.

Soon he dropped his hand when he could not hold it up any longer. Simultaneously the energy around him also dissipated.

"Damn!"

The young prince went on staring into empty air, contemplating what to do next. Through out his nineteen years of age he had never felt this hopeless but this was no reason to give up. It was just a challenge. He made himself to believe this.

"Giving up is for the weak" he said to nothing in particular through clenched teeth.

Just then a rat appeared out of nowhere and nibbled on his nose.
Kona gave a totally unmanly and undignified squeak.

One which he was grateful that no one much less Kulo or a lady heard. He had jumped on his feet in the process and cursed the rat while dusting himself off in a way to assure himself he was the one in command here and not some rat.

He realised what he had just done and with a slight smile on his face said, "Ozuna may I most humbly inform you that I do not appreciate your sense of humour in helping me out".

The rat came back nibbling at his feet.

"Be gone you rodent!".

Somewhere far away...

"Fire! fire! fire!"

Smoke.

Thick black smoke.

Screams of terror and shouts pierced the night.

"Where the hell is the water eh?! Bring the water immediately! Haraka sana!

"They are coming!...they're too close for our liking!

To the eye of the lone man who was calmly standing watching everything unfolding on a hill that overlooked the village, the small village looked like a typical bonfire.

But up close with a double take you could see the real mayhem. Innocent people were losing their homes in flames.

Their possessions. Their regular lives.

Within the village."Why are you just standing there! Do something! Bring more water! Form a line to the well immediately. Now!"

"There aren't enough hands. Most of us are at the territory fighting them off! We have no choice we need to resort to our final plan...It's either that or we all lose it seems our current plan has failed miserably! "

"It's true, we can't keep on resisting any longer!"

"No! It will drain the last of our power-"

"But we do not have much of a choice!"

"No-"

"Onaya...Please do not make this more difficult than it already is. The slave raiders have no mercy. They just set our village aflame in our sleep. If we do not do this right now we will be doomed"

As if to second him, the sound of a whip cracking and ear piercing screams could be heard from a distance.

"Now! Onaya..."

"Very well then, summon the rest"

He smiled.

"As you wish, my love."
