Chapter Nine
ABEL:
The room had emptied. Reagan and Jamie, alongside the betas Rian and Zach, had been ordered to the kitchen with Lysander's human husband, Thomas, and his daughter, Mei. The only people that remained by Evander's sleeping form were Abel himself, Amber, Wyatt, and Lysander.
"He might try to run but I've enchanted the room to hold supernaturals inside. That means we can't leave either, not until Reagan or Thomas move the crystals outside of the door. Do you understand?" Wyatt stared around the room, smiling at the nods.
"Right, Abel, I think you should stay by him. Try not to say anything to scare him..."
Abel moved to crouch next to Evander, watching as Abel muttered under his breath, his hand placed lightly on Evander's chest. Abel gritted his teeth as the boy's chest rose and fell deeply, letting out a sigh before his muscles twitched. Evander rolled, stretching his arms above his head and blinking.
"Wha-" His violet eyes snapped to Abel. "YOU!"
"Listen, you're-" Abel didn't get to finish, Evander's fist snapped out and punched him square in the face, cracking his nose.
"FUCK! EVANDER! What the fuck is wrong with you?"
"How do you know my name?" Evander shrieked, bolting from the sofa. Upon seeing he had no escape, he stumbled with his back to the wall, staring hard at the people around him. He could smell the dragons, the witch and...a vampire? Abel stared quizzically at Lysander, the scent unfamiliar to him. It was vampire and...human? That was impossible, it was illegal.
"Evander, please calm down sweetie." Amber smiled reassuringly, her red hair cascading in waves to her hips. "We're not going to hurt you."
"You're not going to hurt me? You fucking kidnapped me!"
"In our defence, you ran into Abel's arms," Wyatt smirked, then silenced by Amber's glare.
"You knocked me out! Do you know who my father is? Wait until he hears about this!"
"Calm down Draco Malfoy," Lysander rolled his eyes, walking forwards. "Hear them out, if you don't like what they say, we'll put you back where we found you. Or where they found you, I'm just the host."
Evander eyed him with wonder. His eyes were an odd mix of burgundy, he appeared almost vampiric. Almost.
"I'm a Dhampir. My mother was a vampire and my father was human" Lysander studied Evander, his eyes seeking a reaction.
"B-But that's illegal." Evander stammered.
"Yes. And Atlas Heridicles made sure my mother knew it, he killed her shortly after I was born. My father raised me until I was eighteen, then your High Lord tracked him down and killed him too. I barely escaped with my life."
Evander swallowed thickly, he knew Atlas was evil, and killing a mother after birthing a child was not the only evil he'd committed. "I'm sorry" he muttered, biting his lip as Lysander looked as though someone had slapped him a surprise.
"And...I'm listening to what you have to say," he watched as Abel stood up, his nose bruised but not bleeding.
"I'm Abel Drake, this is my older sister Amber, her boyfriend Wyatt, and in the room behind there's a hunter, Reagan, and three werewolves: Jamie, Zach and Rian," Abel began.
"An unlikely group."
"Very. They decided to come, and as fucked up as it sounds, I've seen you before. I've been dreaming about you-"
