Chapter 19

                                                             Kevin's pov

 I went into my dad’s office and sat down on the leather couch he had in there.

I suck in a long gulp of air, remembering the last time I was here and dad told me about his sickness.

What I did not get was, if grams can do what she did for Pierce than why couldn’t she do something with dad?

‘’Dad why don’t you get grams to help you’’? I ask dad and he chuckle while rubbing his face with his hands, wincing when he touch his bruises.

Pierce can pack a punch.

‘’She offered but I refused’’. He mumbles and looks away from me.

I stare at him shock, why would he refuse. I studied his face more, he seemed in pain, old and pale have he seemed like this for long?

I never paid attention to him, since I was too mad at him, I was hurt for his actions.

‘’Dad, why did not you not believe me’’? I whispered my question.

I was scared of his answer, I wanted to know but at the same time, I feared the dreadful answer.

‘’Right at that moment, I tried so much but her death was weighting on me, my best friend lost his child and blamed mine, he would cry saying that it wasn’t fair for you to still be alive and not her’’. He explains as he sobs.

I stayed quiet as he takes a deep long breath.

‘’He said he found her diary and had wrote down, that you were pressuring her to have sex with you, her dad was pissed we had a huge fight and he went out to drink’’. He says and I furrowed my eyebrows together I pressure her, my god she was the one pushing for it, I wanted to wait until we got married.

‘’We had lost clients because of our personal problems, I felt bad that his child was dead but there wasn’t anything anyone could do or you, everything weight on me, your pain, his pain our customers and then the rumors that you liked boys and girls and that you probably wanted to get rid of her because of a boy, I didn’t know your sexual preferences and I thought why did he not tell us, you know, why is he not honest with us’’?  

He stays quiet for a while, I was blinking repeatedly, and I had forgotten they were partners.
