"Tell me about your life as a quirkless person."
Stain repeated the question, eyeing the greenette.

Said greenette looked back, nervousness present in the way he shuddered before finally opening his mouth to speak from experience.

"Being quirkless in a superhuman society honestly.. feels like massive crap." Izuku replied, finally free to express his thoughts, to be able to vent his frustrations. They don't need to be bottled up anymore, he can tell everything to this new teacher of his.

"A lot of people looked down on me and only saw me as a nuisance.."

"Well you see— ever since I was I child, I always wanted to become a hero, to save people with a smile." The pro hero All Might popped up in his head, but it wasn't the tall and muscular figured he admired. No, he remembered the thin and scrawny man that looked to be in a hurry, crushing his dreams like it were some futile cockroach.

"But ever since they found out about me being quirkless, most of my classmates started to bully me, especially my childhood friend Kacchan whom I admired so much."

"I've been bullied for most of my life and I never really had any real friends.. My mom was the only person who actually cared about me.. but even she didn't like the idea of me joining the hero course." Izuku's breath hitched, tears already building up the side of his eyes.

Stain seemed to notice the inner battle the greenette was facing and decided to reached up to squeeze his hand. Nodding in a reassuring manner.

Izuku didn't pull back, nor did he feel uncomfortable. "No matter how kind I treated them, no matter how many times I followed their demands.. they all still looked at me with disgust.." Izuku can't really tackle his emotions anymore, he decided to just let it go and let his tears drop to the ground.

"I just wanted to be a fucking hero, was that too much to ask for?!" He shouted in rage, voiced cracked and forced.

"I did everything I could for them not to hate me. I let them beat me up, I help them cheat, I even skipped classes cause they told me to.. but giving up on my dream was something I could never do.."

"You can't become a hero."

"Until a certain pro hero pushed me off the edge."

"The reason for why I'm living is because there's was still a part of me that believes.." Izuku paused, trying to regain his breath "That I could become a hero." The boy sighed, thankful that he had let go of the heavy burden weighing on his chest.

Stain released the boys hand, relieved that the discussion went well..  But, he still had some things to clear up, things that he didn't understand.

"Um.. Midoriya?"

The greenette looked up with a smile "Yes Sensei?"

"There's just some stuff I wan't to clear up." Stain smiled back, but he's honestly scared of how the boy would react to the words he's about to utter, "Have you ever fought back? After all the years of pain and torment?"

Izuku's eyes went wide, whilst opening and closing his mouth, unsure of what to say and what to do. Not long after, an inexplainable gnawing feeling began to creep up his stomach.

"Why didn't you train and do strenuous physical activities to make up for your lack of quirk?" Stain pressed his questions further, curious and a tiny bit annoyed at Izuku for being such a naive kid. Having such strong ideals but do nothing to act upon them. Sitting idle in one spot just waiting for a miracle, just something to change his life.

Stain's words struck him like a spear, he came to the realisation that all this time he had been too fragile, too scared to ever fight back. He gulped, weary eyes looking back at Stain's hulking figure.

"No.." The boy looked away, clutching the seat cushion for dear life. As he can still feel his sensei's eyes directly on his back. "I'm sorry—

"Don't say sorry." Stain immediately cut him off, "We're here to better you Midoriya, start by being less apologetic at least." Stain continued, no hint of malice tinted on his words.

Despite all the reassuring gestures Stain tried to pull, the greenette still felt frightened. Not cause of Stain entirely, primarily cause of Stain's previously uttered words. It was the truth, Stain was right, he never acted upon his convictions. He did nothing to amount to his determined, hopeful attitude. He was merely delusional— no training, no fighting back, nothing.

Nothing.

Stain noticed the boy's blank face, but he can tell that the green haired boy was having an inner dilemma as his knuckles were turning white from squeezing the couch cushions.

"Hey— It's understandable that you didn't do anything, I mean to be surrounded with such negativity will surely lower your confidence to do anything remotely productive, concerning physical training I mean." Stain laughed awkwardly, obviously trying to calm the boy once again.

'Okay maybe I pushed it a bit too far' Stain thought, suspecting that the remaining hope inside the kid straight up died cause of his ignorance. "Don't mope around kid, we have a lot of time in our hands to better you. Feeling like shit will only make you more pathetic. Show a bit of positivity." He didn't mean to sound so stern and strict, fuck he sucks too much at this.

Izuku looked at Stain, uncertainty still clouding his eyes. But alas, he felt this tiny glint of hope.
He's not here to disappoint anyone anymore, he's here to prove himself!

'Someone's finally offering me help, I can't mope around now!' He thought, excitement clouding his features, as he stood up from the rugged couch and shouted "I'll show you my resolve Stain-sensei! And I promise to not disappoint!"

——————————————————————-
Sorry that the transition of Midoriya from literally feeling like crap to feeling excited wasn't smooth enough, can't help but feel like it was ass-pulish.

Finally decided to complete this chapter, a bit rushed as you can see.
