Her head slams against her pillow
She's in absolute agony
Her insides scream in boredom
whilst her brain concocts another fantasy

Her mind wanders to a land far away
Dreaming up delusions of glory; of splendour
She's far too old for such foolish figments
such hyperbolic delusions of grandeur

She shakes her head and bids the thoughts adieu
She's far too judicious for such silly apparitions
Her brain wails and her heart bleeds at the thoughts she's forced to subdue
Once again she shakes her head and flails her arms "No more nonsensical hullabaloo"

The aimless days and listless nights slowly become one
as she stays trapped in this room all alone
The days rise just as the nights falls
but to her it's all the same;
the emergence of the stars the moon and the unequivocal rising of the sun

Suffocating isolation has taken its toll
Insanity begins to creep it's way inside
Trapped in this room and trapped in her mind, there's nowhere to hide
Demons threaten to break through and swallow her whole
Blunt fingers scratch against her pale skin
Crimson red blood oozes from within
With fistfuls of hair she starts to yank
Loud and blaring, red lights flash
as squeaky white shoes enter
her mind goes blank

Blinding light breaks through her forced sleep
She looks around the white walls and her heart begins to weep
She screams out, begging for help
she can no longer handle this forced quiescent
There's no answer, she accepts defeat, accepts her descent

into madness into the unknown
she gives up and lets the thoughts attack
allows the illusory to invade her mind and ascend its throne
