Sophie POV

Sophie woke up to a cold, burning smell. Her head snapped up, and she almost screamed when she realized the burning smell was coming from her.

He eyes snapped open, and she tried to yank her hand away, but it was they were chained to a chair.

Fintan was burning her.

"What do you want?" she growled.

Fintan smiled evily. "I want you to join our order."

"I won't join the Neverseen. You can't make me."

Fintan grinned. "Oh sorry, that wasn't a question. You don't have a choice."

A light suddenly turned on and lit the dim room. It was metal and completely bare except for the chair Sophie was chained to in the middle of the room.

"He's right, Sophie." Gisela's cunning voice said.

Suddenly Gisela pressed some sort of button and a screen revealed itself in the corner. It turned on and Sophie was horrified to see it was recording someone.

Someone she knew.

Keefe Sencen.

Sophie gritted her teeth and squinted harder. Keefe was still walking back towards where Sophie was sitting before she was sitting. He had a determined grin on his face, one that Sophie completely melted to when she saw him. But then she noticed something.

In the shadows, above Keefe, was another elf. He was covered in dark clothes, and blended in with the shadows. When Sophie squinted closer, she saw he was holding a dagger and looking straight at Keefe with a dangerous look in his eye.

Sophie squirmed and screamed, "NO!"

Gisela smiled. "Yes."

Sophie covered her face with her hands. "So what, if I don't join you'll hurt him?" she asked, her voice breaking, "but you wouldn't do that, would you?"

Gisela lips curved upward, "You'd be surprised at what I'll do."

"Fine." Sophie answered, "if it saves him, I'll join."

"Good." Gisela answered, "training starts tomorrow."

How could a fun ball have turned into something  so horrid?

Keefe POV (A few days later)

Keefe paced in his room. Foster had been missing for days and they didn't have any lead on how to find her.

Keefe gritted his teeth. "It'll be okay. I will find her."

But deep down he knew that wasn't true.

His imparter rang with another hail from Fitz. He had been calling him for the last half hour, but Keefe had ignored.

He sighed and begrudgingly picked up the hail from Fitz.

"Why have you been ignoring me?" Fitz asked, narrowing his eyes.

Keefe frowned, "Is there something you want to say?" he asked, done with this call.

Fitz sighed, and Keefe heard a dull thud, like Fitz had punched the wall. "Have you made any progress in finding Sophie?!"

Keefe groaned. "Fitz, you literally came over here 40 minutes ago to lecture me one trying harder. There is no evidence to where she was taken, we searched everywhere she's been in the past week, so I don't know! Okay? I'm trying, and I miss her!" Keefe said, breaking down into tears.

Fitz looked shocked at his outburst. "Look, I love her and we were meant to be together, so I'm just trying to find her!"

"Fitz, you thought Sophie was Stina."

Fitz flushed, remembering what had happened. When Fitz found out it was actually Stina, he immediately dumped her and said Sophie was the only one for him. Keefe almost felt bad for Stina. Actually, Fitz was being a jerk and even though Stina wasn't the best person sometimes, she didn't deserve that.

"Look I-!" Fitz started, but Keefe interrupted.

"I'm going back to looking for her. Bye, Fitz."

Keefe hung up on Fitz and walked out the room, Ro following him. He ignored his Father's shouts telling him he should just let the councilors handle the 'Sophie girls' disappearance.  He leaped to the far side of Everglen where Sophie had been taken.

He traced his fingers along the tree, remembering how amazing that night with Sophie had been.

Until she was taken.

Keefe sighed, and looked around for something-- anything that could give him a lead to find Sophie. Tears threatened to spill out of him, but he pushed them back down.

Oh Foster. I would do anything to know you're alright.

He kept searching for a clue when he got a hail, he thought from Fitz.

Keefe gritted his teeth. "Fitz, I'm trying to--" He was cut off.

"It's not Fitz." Biana's weak (from crying so much) voice answered. "I just wanted to say that the councilor's are having a meeting on how to find Sophie, and they want you there tomorrow."

About time.

"Oh okay. I'll be there. Thanks Biana."

Biana nodded, before hanging up. Keefe could have sworn he heard crying before she hung up. But that would make sense. Everyone was devastated about Sophie getting kidnapped.

But we will get you back.
