Sophie POV

Sophie pulled on a some lazy sweatpants and a loose tunic, careful not to touch her wound. She put her hair in a messy ponytail.

'There. Perfect!' Sophie thought.

Sophie was getting dressed to go with Keefe.

Just hanging out.

Like friends do.

Completely normal.

Sophie grinned. She was sooo exited. But..

What if she messed up?

What if it ended badly?

What if she tripped and fell in the food and everything would be ruined?

Sophie sighed and pressed her fingers against her temples. She stepped away from her bathroom and started walking downstairs.

"Is that seriously what you're wearing???" Vertina asked.

Sophie rolled her eyes. "Yeah."

"You look like a dead rat."

Sophie groaned. "I'm wearing this, because it's comfortable."

Vertina sighed. "Comfort isn't always beauty. I could give you some tips-"

Sophie stepped out of the mirrors range. Plain was fine.

It was.

She wasn't getting dressed up again.

Sophie groaned. Okay, she did wish she was able to look a bit more presentable, just a little.

She could go back to Vertina-

Yeah no. She was not that desperate.

Sophie kept walking, swallowing her doubts. She sat down in the living room, her thoughts drifting to Keefe's dreamy smirk.

Sophie internally sighed.

Wait what? she didn't think Keefe's smirk was-

Sophie's thoughts were interrupted by the doorbell ringing.

He's here!

She shoved her nervousness down and walked towards the door. But just as she reached it it was pushed open from the outside.

She looked up, expecting to see Keefe, but..

Instead Biana was standing there, holding lot's of shopping bags. Her had was still held out from ouching the door open. She tapped her foot impatiently.

"Does it take that long to open a door?"

Sophie fumbled. "Biana, what are you doing here?"

"Well, since we haven't had girl time in awhile, I thought we could hand out and I could do your makeup and stuff. I just went shopping."

"Er, um sorry, but I'm sort of busy."

Biana raised an eyebrow. "With what?"

"Um, I, Keefe and I are hanging out."

Biana squealed. "Like a date????? Yay! My ship has sailed!" she shouted. She quickly dropped her shopping bags, and started running around the house chanting 'Sokeefe, Sokeefe, Sokeefe!'

Sophie blushed. "No, just hanging out. Like friends." she added.

Biana ran back, out of breath. "Suuuure."

Sophie groaned.

"But you're wearing that????" Biana exclaimed.

Sophie shifted, uncomfortably. "Um, yeah."

Biana shook her head. "No you're not. Come on, Sophie." she said, dragging Sophie upstairs.

Keefe POV

Keefe quietly pulled his hand closer and closer to the wick, holding his body very still as to not blow out any of the other candles. He brought the match even closer, ignoring the way the other flames skimmed his bare arm. He brought is super close, almost touching and..

Perfect.

The last candle was lit.

He slowly and carefully pulled his body away from the mass of candles, before jumping in the air and hollering "Yes! Done!"

He stepped back and admired his work.

He had laid out a soft blanket under Calla's Panakes tree. He had put all sorts of delicious Elvin food out, but in the middle a especially large heap of Mallowmelt lay. All around the blanket were hundreds and hundreds of candles, all lit and glowing beautifully in the evening sky. It had taken him hours and hours to set up, but it was worth it.

He wanted tonight to be perfect.

Because Sophie deserved it and so much more.

He straitened the collar on his soft white shirt, and re-mussed his hair to perfection.

He took a deep breath and started walking towards Havenfield to get Sophie.

Sophie POV

Sophie stumbled out of the closet ad looked at herself in the mirror.

She gasped.

Biana had chosen her a deep red dress, that flared slightly at her waist ad ended at her knees. Her hair was in a half up half down hairstyle and her makeup was simple (or that's what Biana said, in her opinion her makeup was still very heavy and complex.) He shoes had short heels and we a deep red, the same color as the dress.

"Woah, thanks Biana."

Biana beamed. "What are friends for? But I expect a full update on your date."

Sophie rolled her eyes.

Biana went back to chanting Sokeefe, Sokeefe, Sokeefe!

But then the doorbell rang.

Sophie bounced down the stairs. She opened the door.

Standing there was Keefe. His hair was done to perfection ad he had a goofy grin on his face.

"Woah, Foster, you look amazing."

Sophie blushed. "Thanks."

Keefe smiled. "Ready?"

"Of course."
