So this short story is going to have to go a bit faster than I wanted because it has to be finished REALLY SOON (Yeah I'm freaking out a bit). So it's going to end soon and officially be over. Um...one with the writing!

Sophie POV

Sophie had been training with the Neverseen for just a few days, but it felt like forever. They taught her fighting techniques, but Sophie couldn't have cared less about them. The food was horrible and her 'room' resembled a prison cell. She just wanted to leave this horrid place.

But if doing this meant Keefe would be safe, she would do it everyday for the rest of her life.

But she missed him so much.

"Sophie!" Fintan's harsh voice cut through the air, interrupting Sophie from her thoughts.

Sophie had been eating when she had spaced out. It was a dark brown mush, and although the phrase 'appearances can be deceiving' was true for most Elvin food, it was not true for whatever this stuff was.

Sophie choked down one more spoonful before getting up and begrudgingly following Fintan.

Sophie wanted to escape, and it would be so easy, but Gisela was very clear. One wrong move, and Keefe would get it.

"Gisela wants you, Moonlark, or shall we say, the Neverseens Moonlark." Fintan sneered.

Sophie could have thought of a dozen insults to fling back, but she held her tongue.

They walked in silence to the meeting room, where Lady Gisela was waiting.. She wanted nothing more than to inflict in him and leave him writhing in pain on the floor, but she didn't want to risk Keefe.

Eventually the arrived there, and Sophie begrudgingly sat down in one of the cold, metal chairs. Fintan left and said Gisela would be there soon. The urge to strangle him was as big as ever, but she settled for glaring as he walked away.

After a few minutes of flicking the table in her boredom, Lady Gisela got there. She was wearing a simple cloak and an elaborate crimson tunic.

"So what do you want me to do?" Sophie growled.

She smiled. "I have an assignment for you. "

Sophie noticeably gulped. "What is it?"

"The councilors and some other people are having a meeting tomorrow, and I have something planned," she started, "I want you to blow up the building."

"But won't there be people in there???"

Gisela shrugged. "Those who deserve their life will make it out, and those who don't will die."

"No. I won't do that." Sophie said quietly.

Lady Gisela rolled her eyes. "Sophie, we both know how much you care about my son. Would you rather do this, or let him die?"

Sophie pressed her hands on her temples. "I-I'll think about it."

Gisela grinned. "That's what I thought. You leave at dawn. The stuff is in the technology lab."

"But I-" Sophie started, but Gisela had already left.

Sophie groaned in frustration. On one hand, she had to protect Keefe.

But on the other, that building was full of innocent people, and the chances that someone died was too high.

A stubborn tear slipped down her cheek. She wanted nothing more than to be back with Keefe, where he was teasing her, without a care in the world.

Those were good times.

Sophie thought back to her assignment. No doubt Gisela was giving her a hard one, to test her and see how much she'd put on the line for Keefe.

She would do almost anything for him.

But she couldn't let anyone die.

Sophie gritted her teeth.

No one was going to get hurt tomorrow. Not if she could stop it.

Ahh okay, that was wayyy to short of a chapter. I promise the next ones will be longer. And I know this chapter was pretty boring, it was more of a filler chapter. I promise the next ones will be a lot better.
