"i'm home," you heard a whisper, followed by the sound of the door shutting behind him.

you sat up on the couch, a smile forming on your lips as you saw his tired, but still handsome face. rubbing your sleepy eyes, you made your way over to him. he grinned when he saw you, taking your hand and pulling you into his embrace.

"i've missed you," he pointed out. me too, you replied as you squeezed him tighter, not wanting to let go.

taehyung planted a kiss on your forehead and the both of you stood in each others' arms in silence. he hesitantly pulled away after some time, telling you to get some sleep and rest. it was almost two in the morning, so you nodded as you yawned, making your way upstairs into your bedroom to sleep. taehyung went to the bathroom for a shower and you snuggled under the duvet, its warmth cradling you into a deep slumber.

a few moments later, you felt the soft mattress sink under taehyung's weight and the blanket shift as he made himself comfortable beside you, his arms snaking around your waist and his face buried in the crook of your neck, your back against his hard chest.

taehyung sighed in contentment and whispered a good night, followed by a phrase that has your heart racing every time he says it with so much sincerity. just three words, three syllables, and eight letters long, and it was enough to make your whole world feel complete. you smiled.

"i love you too," you told him, and you meant every word.
