Chapter 19

A few weeks had passed since the incident and almost everyone was doing ok. Ricardo and Blue were obviously having trouble in paradise and only acknowledged each other when it had something to do with the kids and that alone was something a fight could brew from. King and Naomi were trying to figure out if they needed to move or not because they figured that maybe their house was a little bit too small for them and a child so they were currently looking at houses, and we're potentially looking for a house that was close to Blue and Ricardo's. Gamble and Andrea were, as usual, being the happy and overly affectionate couple that everyone knew them to be and were practicing a lot in life.

King had a conversation with Park regarding the shooting at the gala, and Park apologized and realized that he shouldn't have put three rookies on the spot that like that. He realized that it was completely unprofessional and wished King, Naomi, and the baby well. King accepted the apology but was still very serious about not being in the presence of the rookies because he wasn't sure if he would be able to control his actions.

A few days after that Park called the Carter adults in for a mission informal. The issue was that the mission was not what they were used to at all. Park had received intel that a key person by the name of Gary Helfender was one of TDF's first trainees and that his coverup work were charity events for various studies of medical research. The catch, however, was that medical research was what he said because telling people he is responsible for the rising of a new cartel family. So Park assigned the three with the mission of getting into the charity event under different identities, and that they didn't know each other. They were supposed to get close enough to Gary in order to poison his drink that would make unknowingly tell the truth because he was under the influence of a strong drug.

Blue would become Jessica Algright. An up and coming realtor agent who had an uncle with liver cancer, which is why she would be attending the medical charity. King would become Poe Rittiny. A business owner who had a sister who was dealing heavily with the burden of her heart slowly giving out. And Gamble would play the role of Walter Gissy. A lawyer whose more was dealing with a weakening immune system.

Park gave them the mission informal weeks in advance because if this was to go badly there would be dire consequences. He needed them to actually make it look like they weren't spies at all and were actually people with normal lives with people dying in their family. Which, contrary to popular belief, is very hard.

HOURS BEFORE MISSION

THE LADIES

For lunch Blue, Naomi, and Andrea headed to this local restaurant to hang up and catch up. Naomi and Andrea had met each other in the parking lot

"So how is the mommy to be doing?" Andrea squealed as she touched Naomi's tummy, that has yet to show a bump, as they walked to the restaurant.

"We are doing good just resting before I head back into work for a while, and then after that, I am on maternity leave," Naomi explained as she slid into the booth when they found Blue.

"Oh well that is great I can't wait to meet the little guy or girl, so what about you Blue how are the triplets?" Andrea questioned.

"Um, they are good, all six months old and healthy," She replied forcing a smile on her face. Naomi and Andrea both exchanged glances of concernment before turning back to Blue who was staring aimlessly out of the window.

"Well, that is good. What about Ricardo how is he?" Naomi inquired.

Blue scoffed, "Good I assume."

"What do you mean by assuming?" Andrea replied.

"Assuming the fact that he hasn't talked to me ever since the argument about another baby. We don't talk, I tried to talk to him the day after but he didn't want too, so I just waited until he came to me first. He hasn't the only time we talk is when it has to deal with boys."

"He doesn't even say goodnight?"

"We aren't even sleeping in the same bed, he went to one of the guest room a few days after the fight. At the rate we are going I wouldn't be surprised if a divorce was served to me."

"Don't say that. Ricardo still loves you he is just going through things, you saying no to another child probably crushed him more than he expected."

"Crushed him so much that he can't even stand the sight of me, Naomi?"

"No Blue that's not what I meant." Naomi pleaded.

"She means that he still loves you even if he is acting like a childish baby, you guys just need to have a conversation and try to make a compromise," Andrea explained.

"What's there to compromise I said I didn't want another child he got pissed, nothing much more to compromise," Blue grunted.

"I'm sure there is something," Naomi stated hopefully.

"Can we just stop talking about this please," Blue sighed as she began to rub her temples. Naomi and Andrea let it go and moved onto happier topics that included Naomi's pregnancy, and Andrea may be becoming a mother soon.

THE MEN

King had invited his brother and brother-in-law to a gentlemen's club to hangout before the mission. They were escorted to a room and given and cigars and glasses of brandy while they talked.

"So King what are you hoping for when it comes to this new baby?" Gamble questioned.

"A healthy baby it wouldn't matter what the gender is as long as it comes out looking like me. However, my fingers are crossed for a little girl. Just to shower that girl with all my love would be one of the biggest accomplishments of my life." King smiled.

"Speaking of babies when are you and Andrea going to join the parenting club like the rest of us?" King asked as he exhaled the smoke.

"Gosh, I don't know, Andrea told me now she wasn't ready but when she was we would have a conversation about it and go from there."

"Well that's great I can't wait to see you with a kid, because then you will really have to mature then, but I have no doubt that you will make a great father." King praised.

"Thank you, bro, what about you Ricardo? Will you knock up my cousin/sister again?" Gamble joked.

"Nope, she doesn't want any more kids," Ricardo answered in a short tone.

"Well can you blame her, she was pregnant with three boys, and then had to push out three boys. Do you really want her to go through that pain again?" King replied.

"I told her we could adopt."

"And then what add another baby to the chaos that is yall's life. Look she is a fulltime vigilante, mercenary, assassin. She doesn't want to bring another kid into that because if something was to happen to her she has to put her three sons through that." Gamble interjected.

"Gamble, are you implying that you know more about my wife than I do?" Ricardo stated defensively.

"As a matter of fact I am, see Blue and I have known each other our whole lives'. You Ricardo just came in, and for you to try and insult her choices because you think you want another child is disrespectful. At the end of the day, it is her body and if she doesn't want to bow down and give you another child then she doesn't have to."

"Gamble, if I want to have another kid my wife then that is exactly what I want to do."

"You don't get to have another kid if she doesn't want one," Gamble argued as he stood up and made his way towards Ricardo with him doing the same. King quickly stepped in between the two men.

"Guys chill, you both have said your peace now let's just sit and chill for the rest of the time being," King spoke.

"You know what I'm out," Ricardo replied as he grabbed his jacket and left the room.

"I'm not apologizing, and we are not telling Blue," Gamble sighed.

"You do whatever," King replied.

They finished up their time in the club enjoying all of its perks before grabbing a late lunch. After that, they headed to their separate homes for some relaxation before leaving again to head to HQ.
