Chapter 17

The secretary which I later found out her name was Hailey took me to the office I'd be using
She didn't try to talk to me neither did I try to force any conversation, I only followed her silently like a puppy
We stopped at the front of an office not far from Xavier's and opening it showed me the most beautiful office I've ever seen apart from Xavier's obviously

It's painted lilac and black,there's a glass like wall around it that makes me see everything happening outside the office,also a glass behind the chair that makes me see the beautiful road of NYC, there's another door that leads to the bathroom and toilet,there's a water dispenser and chiller across the room

I saw a Mac book, iPhone x, a laptop and some files on the desk and a couch adjacent the desk, I slumped on the chair in happiness and turned it around grinning in happiness....my dreams are finally coming through,this is my dream office and also my dream job.....my dream everything

I was still grinning in happiness and fulfilment when someone coughed behind me,I totally forgot she is still in here,I stood up immediately very embarrassed
"Urm... I'm sorry, thank you for showing me the office.... I said in my best behavior but she moved closer to me and stopped when we were inches apart,I could perceive her minty breath in my face

"Whatever.... listen hoe I don't care how you meet Xavier or how you worked your way to the place because you obviously don't deserve it
Xavier is mine, fucking mine...the nonsense I saw you two doing in his office should be the last or else I'll make your office life a nightmare....toodles....she said and stomped out of my office before I could hit her back with my words.....this bitch doesn't know who Natalie Bells is

Xavier is mine?does that mean they're dating or had something together? she didn't address him as Mr Jones,he's her boss for crying out loud
I was busy thinking before I remember Xavier said something about a meeting,I totally forgot
I dropped my bag and took the laptop I met in the office and rushed out,I didn't know my way around here and asking Hailey is out of it,I was stuck in the middle of the hall till I saw a lady and she directed me to where the conference room is

I walked towards it and I adjusted my skirt,I knocked before entering,I mumbled a sorry when I noticed the people including Xavier staring at me,I made way to the chair beside Xavier,he mouthed a what are you doing here,I smiled instead and opened the laptop
I felt someone staring at me,I looked up and saw two men,one is in his early 50s and looked really handsome,he was looking at some files on the table

The other one should be in his mid 20s, he's a younger version of the older man, obviously he's the son and looked more handsome
He was staring too much at me and that made me really uncomfortable
I paid attention to what Xavier was saying and typing until I felt someone kicking my feet under the table,I smiled thinking it was Xavier and looked at him but he looked confused,I looked up and noticed the other man was smiling and looking at my cleavage...I quickly buttoned up before Xavier would see anything but I was late

He coughed and my head snapped to him and he looked really angry,if looks could kill then this man would be 6ft under the ground... I knew this isn't gonna end well
"This meeting is over....he announced through gritted teeth and pulled me off the chair,I was able to pack up the laptop before I was dragged out of the room

"What the hell happened in there? Why are you there when I told you your work starts tomorrow?what are you wearing,his stares were all over your chest....he yelled and the hall became silent,I felt everyone was looking at me

"I didn't know,I thought you kicked me... I thought you needed me there,I didn't want you to get worked up reason I came
I thought you liked the cloth,I didn't know he was staring and Immediately I found out I buttoned up..... I explained with tears already forming in my eyes,I hate being yelled at

"I'm sorry babe, I didn't want you to come because I know he's a womaniser, I'm sorry I love the dress but I get to look at your chest only.....he  pulled me into his chest and comforted me,I closed my eyes to inhale his intoxicating cologne,I opened my eyes and decided to ask him about Hailey

"What's between you and Hailey....I dropped the bomb and he grew pale immediately

"When she just got here,she tried seducing me by wearing exposing clothes and all but I never paid attention, I warned her instead
One day I went to club with my best friend,I drank way too much and woke up the next day with another girl on the bed,the girl turned out to be Hailey,I apologized and told her to forget everything since I was drunk and she agreed
After that,her nonsense in the office became more than usual even after I told her to stay off,she embarrasses any girl that comes looking for me,it was a one time thing baby,it didn't happen again I Swear....he explained and I felt he was being blackmailed,that bitch can't get away with blackmailing my man

"I understand and I'm not angry,she just said some stuffs and it's nothing..... I assured him and I could tell he was happy,he kissed me and offered to take me to my office, we left and I made sure to do a fuck you sign to Hailey on my way
He showed me the files and emails,I was told to arrange the files and told me to send the emails to the people concerned before leaving.....this is going to take some time

I packed my hair into a loose ponytail, sat down and start working, I got tired in between and stood up to take a bottle of water from the chiller to drink
I continued for some hours until I heard someone come in,I looked up and saw Xavier taking off his suit and dropping it on the couch
"How's it going....it's lunch time,do you want me to get something for you since you're sort of tied up.....he said smirking and looking at the heap of files

"It's going tough but I'll survive,I'll go with you,I really wanna see some places around here and make some friends since I'm new so let's go daddy.... I said teasing him and I saw amusement in his eyes,I hid a smile

"Call me Daddy once again and I'll take you right here with the whole NYC looking at us.....he said seductively and I felt something in my thighs...damn you

"Let's go before the lunch break is over,I'm really hungry....I said in a hurry to eat and get back to my mountain of work and get done with today

"I'm the boss,I make the rules and I get to break them when I want to.....he replied and slapped my butt cheek as I made my way to the door....I exclaimed not because I didn't like it but because people saw us....my office is full of glass....this man will be the death of me

We left my office and the instant we entered the cafeteria,heads turned around... I don't know if it was because of Xavier or me or the both of us walking in together...the cafeteria is like a big restaurant serving different sorts of foods
I didn't know what to order so Xavier did our ordering and I knew he was going to get me something good

We sat down to eat and I noticed we're the only one there,he told me thats his own sitting place,no one else is allowed to sit there except him and i felt really special
"Stop blushing babe,you're really special....he said and I laughed not knowing I said that out
