Unexpected Love

Chapter 19

The car ride home wasn't how I imagined it to be,we were arguing over who sings the best songs between west life and one direction,I chose west Life but he was against it saying I'm old fashioned....like who tf hates west life and their cute voices.....he's definitely living under the rock

We ended up not listening to anything because he wanted one direction and I wanted west life,he drove in silence....pitch silence,he was giving me side glances and I was enjoying sticking my tongue out at him
"I'll see you tomorrow.... I said kissing his cheek and he drove off

I got inside and grabbed an apple on the counter to eat,I saw a note on the table obviously from home saying she's out and would be back later,I threw it inside the waste bin and went to my room,I placed my phone on charge and went to take a shower
I came back,dried my hair and changed into my high school musical pyjamas....I know right

I sat on my bed, feasting into my apple and  also going through my phone to check if I have any calls or texts,I decided to text Marie to check on her because it's been so long I heard from her
I turned off my phone and threw the remaining apple out to sleep,I tucked myself in and sleep occupied me immediately I closed my eyes

I woke up feeling giddy,I don't know why but I just felt positive,I did my normal routine and settled for a sleeveless straight gown that reached my knee and a blazer to look more professional,I pulled my hair into a bun and did a very light makeup
I walked downstairs and met my mom and Dan eating breakfast
"Morning Mom,I'm off to work..... I said and was about to head out but she pulled me back

"Have breakfast with us,you barely spend time with us.....she said and I felt guilty immediately, I was busy with Xavier and I totally forgot I had my family somewhere

"I'm sorry mom ..... how's school Dan....I asked him reaching for the Nutella to add to my bread

"Annoying and frustrating as ever,I can't wait to get out.......he said and I laughed so hard,he looked at me and I quickly stopped laughing

"What kind of work are you doing,I hope you're not doing anything illegal......she asked looking at me in a way I couldn't understand and I explained everything to her and she signed in relief

I looked at my watch and I noticed I'm few seconds behind time,I stood up and was glad I had something tangible to eat and het to spend time with my family
"I really have to go now guys....I'll see y'all later....... I said after kissing mom's cheek and ruffling my brother's hair not without laughing at his grunts

I left the house and hailed down a cab to his office,I got there 5 minutes later, I walked in greeting the few people that acknowledged me and made sure I stuck my tongue out at Hailey when I passed her,I walked into my office,dropped my bag and went out to get Xavier's coffee before he gets grumpy and annoying
I got the coffee and went to his office to drop it,good thing he isn't there yet.... I walked out to complete the task I couldn't finish yesterday

I  took off  my blazer  and was about to sit when I saw his jacket on the couch,i hugged the jacket and inhaled his cologne,he must have forgotten it when he came to fetch me last night,I made a mental note to drop it off later
I begin to arrange the files, sent some emails out,I got lost in it totally forgetting I was supposed to drop his daily schedule to him every morning

I took it and his jacket,locked my office and made my way to his office,I noticed Hailey wasn't on her seat,I took the lift and when I got to his door, I adjusted my gown before knocking on his door,there wasn't a response but I entered anyways
I met Hailey on his desk with her skirt rolled up to her thigh,Xavier was seated on his chair with his head down doing whatever and his hand was on Hailey's naked thigh

I swallowed a lump in my throat and coughed so they'd know I was there,Xavier looked up and I caught a glimpse of something in his eyes....guilt,he took his hands off her thigh and Hailey looked fulfilled
"Good morning sir,i came to drop your jacket and your schedule..... I said trying to best to look okay and begging my inner self not to explode right now

I didn't wait for his reply before heading out,I walked into my office and went straight into the bathroom,I looked at myself in my mirror and tears fell...good timing,I cleaned up my tears and went back into my office
I did my tasks for some hours before my stomach grumbled, I checked my watch and noticed it's past lunch time,I stood up and went to Starbucks....I don't want to go to the cafeteria,I really wanna avoid Xavier and Hailey

I got back later and got a call from Xavier telling me to report to his office even before i could sit....well so much for avoiding him
I went to his door and knocked,I made sure I heard a response before entering
He was busy on his laptop when I went in,I stood without leaving till he's ready to attend to me
"Are you done with the files.....he said for the first time without looking up

"Yes sir,I'll bring them before going home today....I replied and then he looked up,he raised an eyebrow surprised I used sir but I care less right now

"Okay pack your bags, we're travelling tomorrow to bag a contract.....

"Where to sir.....I asked and I knew he was surprised I asked,in as much as I'd love to travel around the world,I'd need to know where I'm going
