Chapter 6 - Preparations

Me,Jared and Yui ended up making decorations for the WHOLE school. Bummer. Some of them were already bought,but whatever. It took us like three hours before we got to do the actual thing. The three of us were scattered outside in an awkward silence,each putting a specific part of the furniture into place.

"So.." Jared finally spoke. "I.. heard you're into art.." he continued quietly. He was talking to Yui,so I just remained silent,my back facing them as I was in the distance. A third wheel.
"..yeah,actually!" Yui replied with a nervous giggle.
I could hear Jared scoff.
I placed my hand on my pile just to see that all of my portion was already gone. Which meant,I had to go get more. I groaned.
"be right back." I stood up and walked off with no hesitation.

As I walked I let out a small huff,bumping into someone's back.
"Not again!!!" I spoke loudly as I began falling back. The person quickly turned and grabbed me by the hand. I opened my eyes to see..

The fucking ghost!! Why can't he just get out of my life already?!
"Are you okay?!-" his expression seemed different- he seemed worried.
I smirked,getting an idea.

"Nope.I think I sprained my ankle.." I groaned slightly.
I chuckled to myself quietly.

"I'm sorry- but,watch where you're going,silly!" He sighed,pulling me up.
"I was."
"I'll take you to the nurse's office." he spoke. He turned and crouched slightly,holding his arms out backwards. Was he gonna give me a piggyback ride?
This guy bro.
I smirked before kicking him in the butt gently. "Jokes," I giggled as he let out a slightly angered noise.
"Seriously.."
I watched as he got up and turned to face me,looking down at me,my giggle breaking into a laugh.
He just death stared at me. "That wasn't funny."
"Yes it was!"
He just sighed.
"I saw you outside. Helping with the preparations,are you?"
I nodded.
"Yeah,and quite frankly,it's boring as fuck!" I growled. Curse you,Mr Dracula!
He just took off his coat and threw it at me.
"Wh-"I quickly grabbed onto it,my eyes gasping silently as my pupils glanced up at him.
"Wear this...since, it's cold outside,I guess..you can give it back later." And just like that he walked off. I found myself staring before blinking quickly.
Well,damn.
I just shrugged and put his coat on,continuing to walk.

Later on,I returned outside. The sky was coated in purple and the clouds looked like cotton candy. I came back to see Jared and Yui still chatting at it.
I decided to join in the conversation,and just like that the three of us continued doing our work as a team.
