Anna's dream

chapter 7

                    ANNA

Oh God! Why did this have to happen on my second day in school. So it happened that both my mum and I woke up late today so we had to rush things in order to beat time, but luck just wasn't on our side today. The traffic was so hectic that I arrived school late. And to make matters worse I met one annoying snr John at the gate,he was the prefect on duty and so he was punishing the late comer's. I tried explaining to him that I was a new student but he still went ahead to make me pick around the school premises
why did my village people choose to shake my Calabash today of all days.
I wanted to refuse and just go to my class but I just decided to comply, he should count himself lucky that I woke up with my church mind today.

When I got to class Mr Okon (the form teacher) was calling the register,he asked me why I was absent the day before and I told him I was I'll. He didn't ask further questions and asked me to take my seat, after he was done calling the names he asked the class prefect to follow him to his office and then left.

" What's his name?" I asked Mabel immediately the form teacher stepped out of the class.

" Who?" She asked turning to me.

" The class prefect"

" Ow  that's Samson Edward, and hey I got worried when I didn't see you yesterday I thought you had changed school already and abandoned your new friend" she said pouting.

I gave out a short laugh
" no of course not my dear friend like I told the teacher earlier I was I'll so I had to skip school but hope I didn't miss much, did you guys wrote any test?"

"No but we are writing physics test today during the third period so you better glance through your notes quickly and please can I have my physics note hope you've finished copying it?" She replied

"Yes" I  said retrieving the note book from my bag and passing it to her " thanks"

" You're welcome"

" Anna did you state the ohms law?" Mabel asked me.
We had just finished writing the physics test and luckily for me he had asked just two questions; define motion and state the ohms law.
And I had answered both questions.
" Yes I did"

She flipped through her notebook" but it isn't in my note and how did you know it since you copied from my notebook but then am sure I copied everything he wrote on the board in his last class on Monday, oya state it let me hear"

" Ohms law states that the current flowing through a metallic conductor is directly proportional to the potential difference across it's ends provided that temperature and other physical quantities remain constant" I stated proudly.

" Hia  but how did you know it or did he mention it in class?" she asked closing her notebook.

" Yes he did, you don't remember?"
I asked her.

" No oh I guess you are tenacious cause I don't remember" just then the school Bell rang signifying break time" thank God it's break already let's go to the cafeteria and get something to eat" she said pulling me up.

"  ahahn  anty it's like you love food alot  this one that you are always going to the cafeteria everyday during break time" I teased her.

" Yes o I love food alot I can not come and kill myself, Food is life oya let's come and be going"  then we both burst into laughter as she dragged me out of the class.
