ANNA

Standing under the scorching sun on a Wednesday afternoon,alone and waiting for my Dad who should have arrived like 15minutes ago makes me want to start crying.

But wait what if he had lost his way, no that can't be possible this isn't his first time in Abuja so am sure he can't get lost. But then why hasn't he still arrived?

Now am left standing all alone under this horrible sun, Ow how I wish Mabel was here to keep me company I feel so bored, I just hope my dad arrives soon before I melt under this sun.

Today was quite a hectic day, with Louretta's drama, the unexpected chemistry test and then Mr. Patrick had summoned us to remind us to submit articles and all the interesting news we've been able to pile up during the week, the club was presenting the news on the Friday morning assembly.

And unlucky me, I have done nothing. No article no news , great now I have to gather the little bit of information I am able to lay my hands on, at least a little something is better than nothing right?

I sigh, I might definitely end up staying awake all night. Or maybe I could ask Daddy for help I just hope he won't be busy.

I had been in deep thought that I hadn't noticed a black Corolla ce  park a few metres away from me, and before I could look over to see who it had come to pick up the person had already hopped in.

Great! it seems I am going to be the last person standing, why did this had to happen to me today of all days. Am so not asking Dad to pick me up from school next time.

Just then I sight my Mom's car heading towards my direction, finally! I quickly grab my school bag  and hurry towards the car.

I immediately hop in, and before I could talk my Dad beats me to it .

"Am so sorry for keeping you waiting princess it was so not my intention to keep you waiting for this long, forgive me my dear" he apologizes

" It's ok dad you are here now, can we please head home already I had a very hectic day today and am famished, please" I reply him leaning Into the car seat, I just wish we could teleport and appear at home right now

"Of course princess, but then since my princess is famished maybe we could grab a snack on our way or what do you say" he says making a U-turn out of the school premises .

I smile, my Dad surely knew me too well I couldn't refuse this kinds of offers from him cause grabbing a snack with my Dad meant a mini shopping and I could get to pick anything I want.

He turned to me and I just smile at him he winked in return as he hit the road, my Dad is the best right... Yeah I know.
