Tess's POV
"I can't find my biker boots!"
"Check under your bed. Hey, I found your blue eyeliner!"
"You better give it back when you come over. Should I bring this shirt?"
"Yes! It's adorable! Which bikini do I pack?"
"All of them! Should I bring any of mine?"
"Yes, you should!"
"Which one? I have three."
"Bring them all."
"I don't know..."
I looked at my computer screen to see Blake rolling her eyes.
"Tess, you look hot in all three. The boys in whatever band you're with won't be able to stop drooling."
It had been about three days since I found out about my JR acceptance. Blake and I decided to start packing, so we were on oovoo, trying to help each other. It was a little hectic, because neither of is we're really paying enough attention to the other.
I sat down in my computer chair. "Is it crazy that I still haven't gotten my band assignment?"
"Honestly, yeah," Blake agreed, sorting through a large pile of bathing suits. "Remind me again, what information have you gotten?"
"I'll be getting the plane ticket in the mail," I recalled. "Someone from the label will pick me up and take me to the house where the band is staying until they begin their tour."
"You'll be staying at their house??" She exclaimed.
"Yeah, I was surprised, too," I agreed. "But it'll only be for one night. Then, we get on the bus for the first location. That's when I start training with my 'Music Mentor.'"
"That's not a lot of time to get to know the band," she frowned. "And when does this all happen?"
"Within the next couple weeks," I glanced around at my disastrous room. It looked like my closet had exploded. "I'm going to call Linda to find out when the rest of the information will be sent to me."
"Call me back afterwards!"
"I will."
I clicked out of my video chat with Blake and refreshed my email. Nothing. With a sigh, I grabbed my phone and called Linda.
"Hello, Rapscallion Records. This is Linda."
"Hi, Linda, this is Tess," I replied.
"Oh hi, Tess!" Linda was in a great mood, as usual. "How are you?"
"I'm doing okay," I paused. "I started packing today. But I'm not really sure when my deadline for preparing is. When am I flying out to my band's house?"
"I've decided to email the airline tickets instead of regularly mailing them," she told me. "And I actually just emailed all the band assignments. The tickets will be in with that."
"Oh good!" I cheered, excitement filling my heart. Just then, my laptop dinged. "And I think I just got your email."
"There are your band assignments," Linda said. "Well, I've got many calls to take care of, but call me any time if you have any questions."
"Thanks, Linda," I told her. "Talk to you soon."
"Have a good day!"
'Let's hope so,' I thought as I hung up my phone.
