The Fangs

Chapter 1

🎶Once there was a guy named count
Who was gruesome till he could pout
Then one day they scattered away.
Then they all died in his account.🎶

"Only you would sing that crappy song. It was made in 1914 grow up little brother." Someone moaned.

"Hello to you too dear sister. You've grown the last time I've seen you. How's Sam and Elena?" I said looking down at her.

"They're fine. It's Sams turn to babysit Elena now for the next 3 weeks and when I heard you were going to a human school I just had to jump in and taste the glory of human blood!" She informed me.

"I'm only doing it to show the vampire council and our father that vampires can live in the  human world and bite animals instead, which will help with the cravings." I explained.

"Yeah like that's not going to work." She muttered.

"It will." I stated with confidence.

"Whatever. Now when are you actually going to the human world?" She questioned.

"Tommarow. I've enrolled to go Kingsway high school....you should too." I stated.

"Hah no! I will be waiting for my food outside." She stated.

"Just don't come near me, when it happens then." I ticked off the last piece of equipment I needed for  tommarow.

Luckily my mother used to live in the human world before she 'zinged' with my father. She's the one who taught me and Liz how to speak, write and type in English. She delivered  me a list of things I will need for tommarow, since she's got more experience than I do.

I haven't truely seen my mother in 35 years now. I miss her terribly, but I can't go back knowing that nothing has changed and my father is still a selfish greedy monster or how others call him the 'dark Lord.'

"Fine whatever. Enjoy" and she disapeared..

Tommarow I'm going to stand living life as a human and I just hope that nobody will know who and what I truly am.

 Hazel Pov:

"No I'm not going to school to face them!" I yelled, while throwing my pillows to the door.

"Sweetheart you can't just stay in your room forever. You will find YOUR mate one day and then you will live happily just like Harper and Jack are now." My mother explained.

"Why would I want a mate when I thought Jack was my mate all this time for the last 10 years! But nooo instead he's mated with my best friend Harper..... I don't want a mate and I never will!" I screamed out loud.

"Please just go to school. Harper is your best friend and she does feel guilty, plus it's not really her fault. One day you'll find yourself a mate and you will forget the them.......no I didn't mean it like that!" My mother panicked.

"No I'm not going. I'm going to live in my bedroom!" I confidently stated.

I heard a 'ding' from my phone but I didn't want to touch it because I know it's from Harper. We were like the 'double H' group, (the Happiest and the Hilarious group.)

When it was Jack's birthday he was excited, because he gets to meet his mate. But when he blew his candles out he looked straight ahead and whispered 'mate' I thought he was saying it to me so I stepped forwards, but then he pushed past me and held Harper's face.

By then I knew my life was over! I ran outside, drove my car home and locked all the doors and windows.

My mother's voice snapped me out of thinking.

"Okay fine, but at least check Harper's messagers....you at least owe her that." My mother softly suggested.

I pictured Harper's face at the party. She looked suprised and watched me running out of the room, she ran after me with Jack behind her. I knew she didn't want this. She always had my back.

I grabbed my phone and saw that I had:

25 missed calls from Harper.
9 messages
5 voice calls

14 messagers from Jack
5 messages
3 voice calls

I took a deep breath and clicked 'play' to one of Harpers voicemails.

"Hazel I'm so sorry! I didn't want this to happen. Jack belongs to you, like he normally does. If you want I will reject him, so you can mate each other. That's how much I love you Hazel. Please don't shut me out forever."

Harper sounded broken. I clicked on 'call now' and put the phone towards my ear.

"Hazel? Oh Hazel I'm soo sorry." She cried.

"I'm sorry too. Don't reject Jack it's not his fault either. You guys really deserve each other and I hope you have a great life. I love you too Harper my last wish is that you guys both live happily together forever. Goodbye." I said, realising my phone, so it drops on the floor and smashed it to pieces with my foot.

It's time for a new chapter in my life!

I opened my door to find my mother smiling sadly towards me.

"Mom I want to move schools." I stated.

I don't think I can stand being near Harper or Jack knowing that I will be depressed.

"Okay I will sort out the paperworks, so you can start enrolling tommarow and I'm so proud of you for calling Harper, I know that it could'nt have been easy." she said while touch my shoulder and walked away.
